Some breeds are excellent for family animals and some are better for contests. Generally, these are display pigs. Guinea pig breeds differ in reputation. The three top breeds are the Brief Locks, Abyssinian, and Peruvian. A 4th extensive range, the Sheltie Breed (or Silkie) breed, is another well-known choice.

The Brief Haired pig is the breed that you likely think of when you think of guinea pigs. They have short sleek hair and extensive snouts. They are also known as English guinea pigs and American guinea pigs. The Silkie is like the Peruvian breed. The big distinction is the way the hair moves. Peruvians have lengthy streaming hair that includes all of them such as their experience. The Silkie's locks are lengthy and streaming too but it does not drop over their encounters. The Abyssinian is one of the most typical Guinea pig breeders. This breed has rosettes or whorls of fur. As a result, their coat feels rough. An example is a tortoiseshell with dark and red marks. Other extensive Guinea pig breeders are the Dutch, which is black and white in a saddle pattern on its back and a white forehead. Aside from the length and growth pattern and colour of the fur, there are also variations in the breed of fur that guinea pigs have. The short-haired English and American breeds have a smooth coat of very short hair. Having a guinea pig can be a lot of fun. They start off as small cute animals and grow into lovable relaxed animals. These animals are excellent animals and will need just a few


supplies to create them satisfied. The first thing that these animals will need is a cage. Guinea Pig Cages are available in many shapes and sizes.
