02 Logotype

CEMS Logo

The CEMS logo is made up of two inseparable elements: the monogram composed of the two “Cs” as well as a typography for the name “CEMS”. For any reproduction of the logo, it is necessary to follow the guidelines described in this document.

An exclusion zone has been defined around the logo in order to guarantee its impact and legibility. To determine this protected area, the height of the letter “M” has been chosen as the unit of measurement. When the M is used to determine the horizontal exclusion zone, the serifs are ignored.

The minimum size allowed for the logo has been established so as to ensure its legibility. It has been set to 20 mm.

Min. size: 20mm

Monogram

The two “Cs” represent various facets of the CEMS alliance: the meeting of two worlds (academic and corporate) as one and in fraternity, the creation of a global alliance, and the promotion of friendship beyond borders.

The rounded shape of the symbol creates movement, dynamism and animation (in keeping with the energy of the alliance and its members) as well as a balance with the rectangular shape of the CEMS name.

The choice of symbol also conveys classicism, prestige and sophistication, mirroring the exclusivity of the CEMS alliance and the excellence of the graduates it produces and the schools and companies that it welcomes.

Wordmark

The CEMS name is spelt out in capital letters in order to retain the prestigious, institutional nature of the organisation as a whole.

The characters have been spaced out in order to convey the dynamism and open-mindedness that CEMS embodies.

The letters have been finished off with serifs in order to bring across a certain class and exclusivity, balanced with a rounded shape designed to translate movement within.

Idit ma imus moluptatur, to et dolorer ferate es nonsectiur sum vitataquias enient occum qui sit qui corum des rest quid magniscita dolestia dit quo temos sunt volupti dolupta temporibu.

Logo with Tagline

The baseline conveys the principal values and mission of CEMS: the mission of providing a topclass Management education that will prepare students of the CEMS MIM for a global managerial career, and this in close partnership with academic and corporate institutions from around the world.

In capital letters, the baseline is centered beneath the logo and of the same width, providing additional structure. The logo and the baseline should always be in proportion to one another.

The logo with the tagline provides additional context to those who are not aware of what CEMS is. Therefore, it should be used systematically for external use such as PR communications, presentations, co-branding with external partners and stakeholders.

For social media or CEMS website visuals, the logo without tagline can be used.

Colour Variations

The utilization of the CEMS logo offers the flexibility of application in two colour variations, according to the background of the graphic or image it accompanies.

The rectangle frame around the logo should not appear, the logo should blend into the artwork background.

Example:

Logo on white background
Logo on the official CEMS blue background
Logo on black background

Greyscale Application

The use of the greyscale version is restricted to specific applications such as black and white printing.

The solid black version is only used on media where colour gradation is not possible (fax, stamp…).

Please use only the 3 colours below when printing in greyscale:

Improper Usage

1. Do not change the colours of the logo

2. Do not use the wordmark on its own

3. Do not use the outline form of the logo

4. Do not change the order of the elements

5. Do not change the proportions of the logo

6. Do not distort the logo

7. Do not use low-contrast variants

8. Do not change the typography of the logo

Official CEMS Logos

The CEMS logo with tagline should be used as often as possible (as recommended in page 16).

Refrain from creating new logos.

Logo stuffing dilutes the CEMS brand.

CEMS Alumni Network & Local Chapters should use the rectangular logo CEMS Alumni Network (show logo).

CEMS Student Board and CEMS Clubs should use the round logo (show logos).

CEMS MIM Logo

The logo is assembled by adding the “MIM” acronym to the main CEMS logo. Together the letters form a single brand name, CEMS MIM. The “MIM” extension of the CEMS logo, highlighted in yellow, conveys the idea that the program emanates from the overall organisation and carries with it the same values: excellence, exclusivity and fraternity.

The CEMSMIM logo is used on the CEMS certificate/diploma/term transcript/admission certificate and all the MIM related guides.

Alumni Network

The logo derives from the main CEMS logo, with “Alumni Network” positioned underneath the CEMS name. The Alumni Network is a part of the alliance and is, therefore, displayed in the same dominant blue colour.

Local Chapters are invited to also use the CEMS Alumni Network in their communications.

CEMS Member Logo

The CEMS logo and the logo of academic partners are to be set to scale. Both logotypes are to be aligned so either their midpoint or their letters [if applicable] sit on the same baseline.

“Member of” is not always needed, use only when appropriate.

03Colour Palette

Colour Palette

In adherence to the distinctive visual identity of our brand, this brand manual emphasises the exclusive use of specified colours to maintain a cohesive and recognizable brand presence.

The primary colour palette comprises the iconic CEMS Deep Blue and CEMS Yellow, representing the core elements of our brand identity. It is imperative to consistently utilize these primary colours across all brand applications to ensure a unified and impactful visual representation.

Additionally, the manual introduces the tertiary colour CEMS Electric Blue and Black.

While this tertiary colour can be employed, it is strongly advised to exercise discretion and use them sparingly, reserving them for special highlights and accents. By adhering to this colour scheme, we reinforce a strong and cohesive brand image that resonates consistently across various mediums and communications.

Primary Colours

A deeper blue has been chosen in order to emphasise the seriousness and prestige of the CEMS alliance and its members.

A yellow with a tint of orange has been used in order to convey the youth and dynamism that characterise the alliance.

The combination of colours provides a balance of sobriety, nobility, calm, rigour and seriousness, with warmth, conviviality, vitality, brilliance and intelligence.

The tertiary colour is Electric Blue. This colour is only meant for occasional use, such as highlighting small elements. It's not part of the primary colour palette and should be used sparingly. CMYK 100/100/8/43
