Head Coach James Cusick 1st season
James “JJ” Cusick begins his first season as head coach of the Centenary College women’s basketball team for the 2014-2015 season. He served as an assistant coach for the Centenary’s Women’s Basketball Team under Head Coach Lorie Khalil from 2007-2009. The team made the playoffs in each year, posting an overall record in 2009 of 17-9 and securing a #2 seed in the Colonial States Athletic Conference Tournament. The team also earned a bid to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Tournament. He primarily worked with the guards and forwards in a season that saw senior guard Kristen Camuso set
During the 2009-2010 season James was an assistant with the Centenary College Men’s Basketball Team under Head Coach Enrico Mastroianni. He was responsible for tracking statistics, helping with player development and giving instruction to the substitutes during the game. He also assisted with recruiting. During that season the Cyclones knocked off nationally ranked opponent, Cabrini College, and clinched a spot in the CSAC Tournament. Cusick is also in his 7th year
as the Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach. During the 2013 season the women’s cross country team earned a 5th place finish in the CSAC, its highest since joining the conference. Freshman Priscilla Ortiz turned in one of the top seasons in Centenary history, setting the school 5K and 6K records, while earning second team all-conference honors and competing at the NCAA Atlantic Regional under Cusick’s guidance. In addition, Priscilla Ortiz, was selected 2nd Team All-Conference and was named the 2013-14 Female Athlete of the Year for Centenary College. James was a member of the football and basketball teams at Immaculata High School in Somerville, NJ and earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2004 from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. He went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Centenary College in 2009. In his spare time JJ likes to run, play basketball and play the guitar.

Lagarenne is a 2008 graduate of Cabrini College where she was
a member of the Cavaliers’ NCAA Division III basketball program for four years. She owns a bachelor’s degree in English and Communications from Cabrini College.

Lagarenne was the assistant varsity girl’s basketball coach at Villa
Walsh Academy in 2009-2010, Lagerenne assisted with practice planning, teaching fundamental skills and kept a positive attitude and atmosphere for the student-athletes. She also has experience as the track and field coach from 2009-2011 where she organized practice shedules, practice plans and acute coaching for field events. Lagarenne worked with the first ever student that qualified in the Meet of Champions for the javelin in Villa Walsh Academy History.

Reeves Recreation
The John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center completed a $5 million expansion and renovation in January 2007. The athletic facility was expanded to 30,000 square feet and includes a 1,200 seat gymnasium with two full-sized multipurpose courts, a fitness center/weight-room, locker rooms, a pool with separate locker room facilities, indoor batting cages, new athletic staff offices and athletic training facilities.
