WELCOME
WELCOME BACK!
The Center for Black Equity is delighted to welcome you to the 31st annual DC Black Pride. Our theme this year — Bigger. Bolder. The Original is Back! — is a direct reflection of our community’s resilience, and we are excited to be back in-person after a two year hiatus.

This weekend’s activities include the annual unity ball, our opening reception featuring the Queen Diva Big Freedia, a poetry slam, and number of engaging workshops and community discussions. For a complete list of official DC Black Pride events, check out this guide or visit dcblackpride.org.
DC Black Pride creates a space where all members of our community can connect with and celebrate each other. And while we are upbeat and excited about the return of our event, we ask that you also take a moment throughout the weekend to remember those who have lost lost lives or have otherwise been affected by the pandemic.
Again, welcome to the Nation’s Capital and the site of the first Black Queer Pride event in the world. A special welcome to Black Pride leaders from around the world who are joining us this weekend.
Stay safe, have fun, and enjoy yourself!
