TOWN ENCLOSURE
The 2018 Pavilion Project, produced by Jackson Hole Public Art in partnership with Center for the Arts’ Creative in Residence program, and designed by Carney Logan Burke Architects is both a sculpture and a venue. In 2017, Jackson Hole Public Art led a “blind submittal” process and facilitated a panel of creative professionals to identify the pavilion design. Carney Logan Burke’s design, Town Enclosure, was chosen among many impressive design proposals.
Join us for an opening celebration of The Pavilion on June 27 5:30-7:30pm in The Center Park. JHCENTERFORTHEARTS.ORG

INSTALLATION DATES / JUNE 2018 – MAY 2019
Town Enclosure Pavilion is created from a circular composition of timber panels, the Pavilion and the space it creates are both transparent and opaque according to one’s position and perspective. The Town Enclosure Pavilion will exist as a sculptural object in The Center Park but it is much more than a sculpture. The Pavilion welcomes performing and visual arts, exhibits, classes, and spontaneous gatherings to The Center Park.
ABOUT CARNEY LOGAN BURKE Since our inception in 1992, the Jackson-based studio has grown to accommodate a staff of more than 40 led by principals John Carney, Eric Logan, Kevin Burke and Andy Ankeny. This series joins the aesthetic capabilities found in instant photography and oil paint to hit pause and dwell in a moment. The simplicity and charm of the snapshot photo informs the color choices, design and texture of Katy’s paint. Each painting celebrates spending time in an instant collected from her life as a resident of Jackson Hole.
Biological changes occur naturally across Earth’s many landscapes. In innate confluences, Brandon explores the acceleration of changes because of human impact. As a multimedia experience, this exhibit includes 3D printed and laser cut interactive pieces, landscape reconstructions of Wyoming and Rocky Mountain West landscapes, and original video of the artist’s time exploring nature.

BRANDON GELLIS
SHANNON TROXLER
Shannon loves to draw inspiration from other disciplines. This body of work is a celebration of the visual symphony of music and dance: the graceful curve of a cello scroll, the arch of a dancers foot, the gestures, movement and raw passion embodied by an orchestra. Shannon transforms the gallery into a corridor full of ink drawings dipped in wax and back lit to glow with a translucent light. The exhibit will include a musical concert and a brief dance performance.

While each individual painting is exquisite, the body of work viewed as a whole is profound. As you allow your eyes to settle on one image after another, you step across the threshold into real seeing and are invited into a parallel world in which you are led to notice subtle changes in light and shadow in a way that draws you into another way of seeing.

BEN ROTH
These two sculptures signify the overarching theme in Ben’s work of exploring different environments and how they are changing. The works welcome visitors and indicate immediately that this is a home for creative thinking and exploration. The drastically different environments of mountains and desert bookend the vast artistic activity that occurs in this building and voice the importance of place.
TREVOR AMERY
Consciousness Among The Trees is an installation using firewood, found objects, and artworks that consider how people come together, relate personal experiences, influence one another, as well as our relationship to nature and the outdoors.
