FROM THE EXHIBITION DIRECTOR
Welcome to Sculpted, a celebration of sculpture in all its forms! We are so excited you've joined us today at Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE), the heart of the arts in our beautiful mountain communities.
When Sculpture Evergreen became a program of Center for the Arts Evergreen in January of 2023, the entire staff at CAE knew that we were part of something special. Public art is in the fabric of our everyday life in Evergreen. With 40+ sculptures in Evergreen's permanent collection, you can't wander past any public place without seeing a sculpture. And then we usher in 10-12 new pieces each year as part of our annual Sculpture Walk.
Given Evergreen's dedication to outdoor sculpture, I decided it was time we brought the outdoors in. A show solely dedicated to sculpture in CAE's gallery. It's a first! One of the greatest honors of my job is when an artist welcomes me into their studio and their artistic practice. It's an even greater thrill when they trust me to make their work part of something as magical as Sculpted. The work of the 10 artists in this exhibition represents sculpture in many forms: bronze, cast iron, steel, clay, stone, assemblage, and more. I invite you to spend some time with each piece and to read the educational pieces we've created for the show. You'll gain a new appreciation for the vision of these sculptors, and I hope Sculpted encourages you to dive deeper into your own understanding of sculpture as an artform. You may also find something to add to (or start) your own sculpture collection!
At CAE, we couldn't do what we do without our dedicated staff, volunteers and sponsors. Thank you to my amazing co-workers for balancing ladders, painting walls, and so much
more. You make work fun every day. Thank you to the volutneers who spent thousands of hours over the last 28 years bringing Sculpture Evergreen to life. And, finally, thank you to our exhibition sponsors, Mountain Home Evergreen, Alexa Interiors, and Karen Weidner at Coldwell Banker Realty. Thank you for all you do for CAE and our community. We are truly grateful for your support. I hope all of you enjoy the show as much as we do. Thank you all for Keeping the Arts Alive in our Mountain Community.
With gratitude,
Sara Miller Senior Director of ExhibitionsTHANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS

EVAN BELONI
Evan Beloni is a mechanical engineer, metal fabricator and artist based in Denver. Professionally, he has a background in aerospace and machine design and since 2017 has been engineering and fabricating large scale public art for national artists. His personal art path began in the early 2000's welding scrap metal into freeform whimsical creatures. Since working in public art, his own artistic drive has been reignited and reinvented, putting more intention into art with more design, planning and use of specific materials. Evans primary art direction blends high contrast materials like rusty metal with polished and exploring new techniques with dichroic.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
MICHELLE BRACEWELL
Michelle Bracewell originally from Houston, TX moved to Colorado Springs in 1997. A lifelong artist, in 2012, she developed a keen interest in assemblage.
“Because each piece is so unique, I’m constantly learning new techniques and purchasing new tools, adhesives and the like. Primarily I use I use cold connections such as adhesives, rivets, nuts & bolts, screws, wire and the like, however, I do solder some pieces.”
Every assemblage is a puzzle to be solved and help the story of the piece reveal itself.
YENNY COCQ
Yenny Cocq's artistic expression and challenge is to refine the human figure to basic and almost geometric forms. She loves to use simple body postures and language to portray an emotional idea or story. All of her bronze works are an expression of human emotion and connectedness. Her little couples and families convey an inseparable bond that forms as a result of deep love and sense of togetherness. She has spent years and created hundreds of sculptures in the pursuit of the beauty found in refined forms that capture the essence of this connection. It is her hope that viewers feel their own experiences, perceptions and passions reflected in her sculptures.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
GAIL FOLWELL
There is an elusive tipping point in the creation of anything that is not the result of what, but how and why we create, that imbues it with the power to transform the way we think and feel. Gail Folwell has been an artist all of her life, commencing a sculpture practice in 1995. She has 15 years of experience creating monumental private and public sculpture for commissioning clients that include the Denver Art Museum, Vail Resorts, The Pro Football Hall of Fame, and University of Notre Dame. She recently moved her studio art practice to Basalt, Colorado, and continues to explore the many facets of what it means to be human.

After graduation, Shohini taught as a Lecturer in the same college for 4 years. Denver is her home and creative space. The years of sculpting and drawing from her environment and experiences, spanning two vastly different continents has nurtured and developed her essence of art into a cosmopolitan view of the world and an eclectic approach to artistic expression. She creates sculptures and murals of various sizes for commissions and exhibitions. Collectors describe her work as a figurative, stylistic representation of fun.

SUE QUINLAN
Sue Quinlan’s work explores how artifacts can help people connect with universal human experience and explore its personal meaning.
Her fusion of cultural icons illuminates the connection we all share, including our joys and struggles with ubiquitous events like birth, death and human relationships.

Sue’s use of artifact imagery reminds each of us of the many constants in the human drama.
