Conversations for Your Community

By Rich Maladecki

What an honor it is to call Central Florida home! From our parks to our performing arts centers, we are constantly reminded of how much there is to enjoy here. And how could we forget the people?! People who are kind, supportive, and constantly striving to make our community the best it can be year after year.

Here are a few things you can do to experience and celebrate all that Central Florida has to offer. Collectively, let’s celebrate - and be proud of - the recent Grand Opening of Steinmetz

Hall at the Dr. Phillips

Center for the Performing Arts. This new “World Class” Theater adds to the existing venue and shall transform our appreciation for art in our lives.

It’s time to purchase your tickets for the always popular API

(Arnold Palmer Invitational)

Tournament at the Bay Hill Country Club. For your information, this annual PGA “stop” is set to occur during the first weekend of March. Enjoy this outdoor experience of watching four days of golf by the world’s best players. Investigate the opportunity of joining a neighborhood “Service Club” (Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, etc.). These fine, volunteer driven organizations thrive on the concept of “Giving Back” to the local community. Your participation will directly impact lives and enhance the quality of life of our region.

A notable feature of our Central Florida community is caring

neighbors and neighborhoods

(truly, this is a quality of life standard). Please show your appreciation to those individuals that help you and your family, by serving as a caring and supportive neighbor yourself. Let’s add this important date in your calendar: Daylight Savings Time (DST) starts at 2AM on Sunday, March 13 (Please Spring Forward).

Spring Break is soon approaching - have you finalized plans for your family? It may be time for a get-a-way weekend, secure childcare services or plan family outings.

This is the time of the year in Central Florida to enjoy

outdoor activities at a neighborhood, county, or

State Park. Consider the idea of coordinating a picnic with family and/or friends at your nearby park, to include food and games. This is a good way to create favorable memories.
