aluminium PVD CHROME FINISH This surface treatment is exclusive to Novellini, offering a superior bright coating, which is durable and anti-limescale, and truly matches the Chrome finishes found on brassware and shower equipment. Novellini’s PVD Chrome surface treatment uses an Environmentally Friendly process that is part of a 100% Zero Emission integrated production cycle.

ANTIBACTERIAL COATINGS Silver and Zeolite is added to the PVD Chrome Finish to add antibacterial properties to Novellini’s aluminium shower surfaces. Laboratory tests on Novellini PVD Chrome prove a significant reduction in the proliferation of common bacteria such as Staphylococcus Aureus, MRSA and Enscherichia Coli, when compared with traditional aluminium surface treatments.

TEMPERED GLASS Glass sheets ranging from 4-8mm thickness are heat treated to create a product that is 3x stronger than untreated glass and that if broken will break in a safe manner.

CRYSTAL CLEAR TREATMENT All Novellini clear glass has this non-stick silicone based coating applied to the internal side, this is heat treated to create a full long-lasting chemical bond. To maintain a limescale and streak-free finish, with anti-bacterial properties, a simple wipe is sufficient; cutting out the need for environmentally harmful harsh chemicals and detergents.

Duo - for large tiles The benefits of a Duo Linear Deck The Duo Deck, with its contemporary linear drain, is perfect for ‘large format’ tiles, as there are fewer tile cuts required and hence fewer grout lines.

Choosing a layout to suit your room Corner, alcove or wall layout?

Selecting a layout

How wide should a screen be?

The layout of your shower room will determine the glass option required. Typically this will be either a Corner, Alcove or Wall Layout. For the Corner Layout we provide a range of options from the minimalist single panel to the complete enclosure. For the Alcove there is a choice of either a minimal screen with pivot or a single door (with a fixed panel if required). For the Wall Layout we provide a choice of fixed screens with optional side panels.

To keep water within shower area A, a minimum of 100cm is acceptable, but 120cm would be preferable. Your glass choice will also be affected by area B which is the amount of aperture you need to enter the shower area. If space is limited, a Kuadra H2 (p134) screen with pivot offers a smaller fixed panel with enhanced shielding.

For simplicity, select a single glass screen (Kuadra H) but ensure the width of the screen is sufficient to contain the water spray. For more control, choose a screen with a pivot (Kuadra H2) which deflects more water back into the shower area.

Timber Floor - Guidelines The Novellini wetroom for Timber Floors explained Introduction Our range of pre-formed shower Decks has been developed specifically to allow the installation of a level floor wetroom on a timber floor. Available in a range of sizes, the Deck has a pre-formed engineered slope, ensuring that water from the shower is directed towards the integral drain, guaranteeing a perfect gradient every time. Novellini Wetroom floor systems are suitable to be installed in combination with electric underfloor heating (max specification 150watts/sq metre).

The importance of Waterproofing The primary concern for anyone choosing to create a Wetroom is whether the floor or walls will either absorb, or worse let water through. Through our painstaking research and development we have created a system that is guaranteed, not just for a few years, but for life. The two components of this system are firstly the floor membrane and secondly the wall membrane, which are the key products for waterproofing the wetroom floor and walls. We offer two self adhesive waterproof solutions for the floor membrane designed for use prior to the application of ceramic tiles and natural stone onto timber and solid floors in wetrooms: • Tilesafe - the professional’s choice for over 15 years, extensively used in both commercial and domestic sectors, is a cold-applied self adhesive membrane which consists of a thick rubberised bituminous waterproof layer incorporating a woven glass fibre mesh on one side. Tilesafe has been accredited as an anti-fracture/de-coupling membrane by the UKAS, which means that the effects of possible movement in a timber floor substrate, such as cracked tiles or

grout, are minimised. Tilesafe has been acoustically tested and rated according to BS EN ISO 140-8 and BS EN ISO 717-2 and will typically reduce sound transfer by 11dB. • Floorsafe – developed as a light weight, easy-fit, domestic product, is a cold-applied self adhesive membrane which consists of a thin rubberised butyl waterproof layer with a fleece top surface. For Walls we recommend Wallsafe: • A flexible single application paint-on waterproofing membrane, applied to the wall surfaces prior to the application of ceramic tiles and/or natural stone in wetrooms.

Application For timber floors we recommend that either floor membrane, Tilesafe or Floorsafe, is applied to the entire wetroom floor or at least to a distance of no less than 1 metre from the shower area. Wallsafe should then be applied to the walls of the shower area and overlapped onto the reinforcing tape.

The gradient is formed within the screed, typically 12mm from the finished floor level to the drain. All drains feature a multi-directional outlet for ease of installation. Concrete Floor - Guidelines The Novellini wetroom for solid floors explained Floor build-up Our range of linear drains has been developed specifically for concrete or screeded floors and can be used on concrete slabs, planks and block and beam floors. The key feature of the Linear Floor Drain is its height - the total height from the base to the top of the trough being only 67mm (see image below), making it perfect for today’s modern construction methods. The drain incorporates a unique ‘waterless trap’ which has a lifetime guarantee and has been granted BBA approval. For details see below. Novellini Wetroom floor systems are suitable to be installed in combination with electric underfloor heating (max specification 150 watts/sq metre).

Screedsafe is quick and easy to apply, providing a consistent waterproof layer that is guaranteed not to leak. Wallsafe is a flexible coating for waterproofing wall surfaces prior to the application of ceramic tiles and/ or natural stone in wetrooms and other critical areas.

Application The two components of this system are Screedsafe and Wallsafe - products for waterproofing the wetroom floor and walls. Screedsafe is a self-adhesive waterproof membrane designed for use prior to the application of ceramic tiles, and natural stone onto concrete and screeded floors in wetrooms and other critical areas.

For solid floors we recommend that the Screedsafe membrane is applied to the shower area plus an additional one metre in either direction. Wallsafe should then be applied to the walls of the shower area and overlapped onto the Reinforcing Tape.

Screedsafe comprises a self-adhesive cold applied waterproof membrane which consists of a 1mm rubberised waterproof layer incorporating a woven fabric on one face.
