Reading store will supply uniforms for charter school in city

The I-LEAD Charter School is pleased to announce that the VILLA clothing store, 547 Penn St., Reading, a long-time friend of ILEAD Inc. and popular local merchant of urban apparel, will serve as the inaugural vendor for custom-embroidered student shirts displaying the I-LEAD logo — part of the school uniform. As an employer with an interest in developing a skilled workforce, VILLA volunteered to invest a portion of proceeds from uniform sales to a college scholarship fund and provide internship placements for I-LEAD Charter School students. The school, the first charter school in Berks County, will open Sept. 6 in the former Ludens building, Eighth and Walnut streets, in Reading. More than 200 students have enrolled. VILLA has agreed to offer generous discounts on student shirts and a selection of pants and shoes approved as uniform apparel. To promote shared ownership of school culture, students themselves selected the pants and shoes that will comprise full I-LEAD Charter School student attire. Please note that students and parents are free to purchase approved pants and shoes from any vendor. To highlight its support for and celebrate the pending first day of the I-LEAD Charter School, VILLA will open its doors exclusively to students and parents for a special opportunity to purchase uniforms from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11. To encourage students to set and reach their goals even before the school year begins, we invite students to enter an essay contest to win two free sets of uniforms. Two student essay winners will be selected during the one-hour sale. To enter, please submit a typed 500-word essay describing your future goals, challenges you face in reaching your goals, and steps you plan to take to reach your goals. You can submit your essay via email to leann.duprey@ileadusa.org or via mail to: I-LEAD Charter School 200 N. 8th Street (Suite 200) Reading, PA 19601

Longtime restaurant in Reading deserves a visit, or revisit...bctv.org It's still standing there at 140 W. Buttonwood St., between a church and Schuylkill Avenue in Reading, Pa., — a diner that has seen the great and the small come through its doors. The food seems to be getting better, there's plenty of parking and the workers are courteous and wonderful. Ms. Marguerite is a jovial, lovely person who aims to please her customers — that's the main reason for the House of Good Food's longevity. Please revisit this beautiful, quiet, peaceful wonderful diner that many of us have

forgotten about.

You will not be disappointed. Of course you won't have to be able to spell Schuylkill Avenue to get a great meal, fortunately for Nate. Ha ha The staff is waiting for our return. Please don't disappoint these wonderful cooks and patrons from our city. Thanks much.

Learning to Move on and Letting Go of the Past Being excited about moving on and starting over isn’t always enough to let go of someone that treated you badly. Loving this person may block positive people and opportunities from coming into to your life. Your mind tells you to move forward and never look back but your heart keeps reminding you of what could have been. Your heart says, “We could have been so happy together!” Your mind says, “It would have never worked out between the two of you!” Never pass up an opportunity for greatness because of pure nonsense. Be cautious of those people who are lurking and patiently waiting to jump in and take advantage of your love. People like this will only hinder your success and bring you crashing down in the process. Avoid manipulative characters that have hidden motives. Embrace loving and kind-hearted individuals that will enhance your life. Hard work will lead to success and success will lead to fulfillment. A fulfilled heart is a happy heart and love will enter your life from all directions. Never settle for less when you’re worth a million times more.
