HOMECOMING WEEKEND

]

In the pages that follow, you will find a schedule full of activities to ensure your visit back to campus is a special one. This year’s Homecoming Weekend promises to be an exciting time – we will honor distinguished alumni and outstanding athletes; celebrate the dedication of one building, and the groundbreaking of another; cheer on our student athletes; and delight in several musical performances throughout the weekend. Homecoming at Centre is also a special time to welcome back alumni who are celebrating reunions. When you arrive on campus, please be sure to stop by the Chenault Alumni House to check in and pick up your commemorative gift. As always, I look forward to seeing you, Megan Haake ‘03 Director of Alumni Affairs

An additional $1,080,000 grant was awarded by the National Science Foundation for renovating and updating the existing research facilities in Young. The newly expanded and updated Young Hall provides increased opportunities for undergraduate research, especially collaborative research between students and faculty. The addition includes six new large classrooms, eight new teaching labs, new research labs for eight faculty members, several common, collaborative work areas, significant space for science on display, and the expansion and renovation of the existing animal facilities. Young Hall houses the psychology, psychobiology, biochemistry and molecular biology programs, as well as the synthetic (organic and inorganic) chemists.
