What’s the purpose of Body formulation?

• เพื่อให้ได้สมบัติของสูตรดินตามต้องการ • เพื่อผสมดินวัตถุดิบต่างๆ ให้ได้เนื้อดินที่มีส่วนผสมตามต้องการ – สามารถใช้วัตถุดิบที่ถูกกว่า – ใช้วัตถุดิบทดแทนอื่นๆ ในกรณีที่วัตถุดิบหมด/ขาดแคลน

SiO2 – ไม่รู้ว่าเป็น SiO2 ที่หลุดอยู่ข้างนอกผลึกดิน (Free Silica) หรือ Quartz หรือว่าอยู่ใน ผลึกของ Kaolinite ฉะนั้น หากต้องการที่จะศึกษาว่ามีแร่ดินอะไรอยู่ในเนื้อดินนี้บ้าง จําเป็นต้องใช้การศึกษาผ่าน x-ray diffraction, thermal analysis และ electron microscope

Rational Analysis เป็นวัดส่วนผสมของแร่ดินต่างๆโดยการแยกให้อยู่ในรูปของสูตรแร่ดิน • ปัจจุบัน นิยมใช้ในการอธิบายส่วนประกอบของแร่ในดิน ซึง่ คํานวณจาก การวิเคราะห์แบบ ultimate analysis • เป็นวิธีที่นํามาใช้อย่างแพร่หลาย เพราะสามารถคํานวณส่วนผสมได้อย่าง ถูกต้อง ฉะนั้นการอธิบายส่วนประกอบทางเคมีของดินจึงเขียนในรูปสูตร แร่ดิน • การคํานวณวิเคราะห์หาส่วนประกอบทางแร่ในดินสามารถทําได้สองทาง คือ (1) Feldspar convention (เทียบกับเฟลสปาร์) และ (2) Mica convention (เทียบกับไมก้า) schaiwan@su.ac.th

การเทียบกับ Feldspar • “วิธีเดิมนั้น basic oxides จะถูกกําหนดให้เป็น Orthoclase feldspar (K2O.Al2O3.6SiO2) โดยให้ Na2O, CaO, MgO อยู่ในรูปของ K2O ทั้งหมด Alumina ส่วนทีเ่ หลือก็อยู่ในรูปของ kaolinite และ SiO2 ที่เหลือก็ให้อยู่ในรูปของ Quartz”

• ระยะหลังมีวิธีการที่สามารถแยก Na2O, CaO, MgO เป็นเฟลสปาร์ใน ลักษณะของตนเองและ หากมี Alumina มีสัดส่วนมากกว่า Silica ในการ คิดสัดส่วนในแร่เฟลสปาร์ ให้กําหนด Alumina ให้เป็น corundum

การเทียบกับ mica • ถูกพัฒนาการวิเคราะห์ขึ้น เนื่องจากพบว่า Mg และ Fe สามารถแทรกอยู่ ในโครงสร้างผลึกของดินได้ และธาตุบางตัวก็สามารถแลกเปลี่ยนไอออนได้ • จึงนํา mica มาเป็นโครงสร้างเปรียบเทียบเนื่องจากสามารถพบไมก้าได้ทั้ง ในเฟลสปาร์และดินทุติยภูมิ • นิยมวิเคราะห์ส่วนผสมของดินโดยใช้ “ลักษณะแร่”เป็นตัวกําหนด – “ให้คิด Alkalies ต่างๆให้เป็น paragonite (soda mica) และ muscovite (potash mica) Alumina ส่วนที่เหลือให้คิดอยู่ในรูปของ kaolinite และ Silica ที่เหลือให้อยู่ในรูปของ Quartz นอกนั้นให้เป็น LOI” ** การวิเคราะห์นี้ ส่วนประกอบของ LOI สามารถเป็ นเลขลบได้ Lecture 4

• ต้องการเนื้อดิน china clay 28 กิโลกรัม – ต้องใช้ดิน China Clay-Raw = (28x100) /94 = 29.8 kg

• Feldspar ใน Ball Clay-raw ถูกนํามาใช้แล้ว = (30 x 6)/100 = 1.8 kg – ฉะนัน้ ต้องเพิ่ม feldspar อีก = 15-1.8 = 13.2 kg

Ceramic Glaze Calculations นิยาม Glazes – ส่วนประกอบที่เป็นของแข็งคล้ายแก้วเคลือบบนผิวของ ภาชนะหรือชิน้ ส่วนเซรามิกโดยใช้ความร้อนในการหลอม เคลือบเหล่านี้ ประกอบด้วยสารประกอบหลากหลาย โดยเฉพาะ Silicates และ Borosilicates เคลือบ – เป็นของแข็งคล้ายแก้วทางกายภาพและทางเคมี มีความแข็ง ละลายได้เล็กน้อย หรือไม่ละลาย ยกเว้นกับกรดหรือด่างอย่างแรง ไม่ยอม ให้อากาศและของเหลวผ่านได้ มีความใส โปร่งแสง มีสี หรือไม่มีสีก็ได้ schaiwan@su.ac.th

แก้วกับเคลือบ • แม้ว่าเคลือบจะสามารถหลอมตัวให้กลายเป็นของเหลวได้โดยใช้ความร้อน แต่ เคลือบจะมีส่วนประกอบทีม่ ากมายและสามารถปรับเปลี่ยนลักษณะของเคลือบได้ หลากหลาย • ความแตกต่างระหว่าง Crystalline และ Vitreous Materials คือ การจัดวางของ โครงสร้างผลึก เช่น SiO4 ซึ่งเป็นหน่วยของโครงผลึก Quartz, Cristoballite และ Tridymite จะมีการเรียงตัวกันแบบ Tetrahedron ในขณะทีแ่ ก้ว vitreous ไม่มี การเรียงตัวกันอย่างมีระเบียบ • Engobe คือผิวเคลือบเซรามิกซึ่งเป็นเนื้อเคลือบที่ไม่ละลายเหมือนเคลือบแก้ว จะให้ สีสันและอุด defect ต่างๆบนผิวเซรามิก ส่วนใหญ่ใช้เนื้อดินเดียวกันกับผิวเซรามิก นั้นๆ schaiwan@su.ac.th
