How do you know he is…the one? You may have been asked this question by your parents, your friends, even yourself. The answer isn’t always perfectly clear; he may or may not be ‘ideal’ on paper; you may have known him for only two months or perhaps you’ve been hanging in there a good five years; he may be a cowboy while you were visualizing a business man. The so-called ‘signs’ aren’t always there, but somehow…you just know.

At Ceremony, we feel the same way about our Great List of vendors that we recommend. We take this vendor collective very seriously, which is why we don’t put arbitrary consideration requirements in an antiquated form. We don’t have a scholastic checklist to help us come up with an ‘A’ grade. We don’t even have a job application type form to fill out. You see, when it comes to choosing our Great List of recommended vendors, we believe there is no specific formula for choosing who we invite to join our family. Probably not unlike you, we take a looksie at Facebook, we inquire with their friends and colleagues and, most importantly, we get to know them by social networking the old-fashioned way (in person). In the end, we go with our gut. We just…know.

How should/shouldn’t a bride display her cake?

A cake should not be displayed outside on a hot day in direct sunlight. Once a cake is delivered, it should stay in the area that it will be on display if at all possible.

How do you suggest a bride incorporate her wedding décor/style/fashion into the cake design? We can do many things with fondant so if there is a pattern on the bride’s dress that she would like, we can copy it either by hand or with a mold.

What is the most unique design you’ve made for a wedding cake? We recently did a Gothic wedding cake with red fondant, black fondant overlays, hearts with key holes and antique keys made out of fondant. The top of the cake had a pocket watch with the time 11/11, which was the wedding date, of course.

Niki and Paul met over steaming cups of java at a local coffee shop. They quickly discovered they had lots in common, including a strong preference for Coffee Bean over Starbucks.

Love started percolating and before long, the couple planned a ten-day cruise to Alaska.

Pegah & Amir met at a mutual friend’s going away barbeque. They had actually shared these friends for years but somehow never crossed paths until this one fortuitous afternoon. In fact, Pegah contemplated even attending this party in the park, as she was exhausted from work but decided that it was best to go.

Jennie and Dan were set up by friends for their senior prom. While it was a great way to end their high school careers, they didn’t start dating until a few years later. they crossed paths in the school halls, Ernie doesn’t remember Irma from these early days.

It wouldn’t be until years later when they’d reunite at a friend’s birthday party that the sparks would fly. Irma had since blossomed into a stunning young lady and Ernie definitely noticed. This time the stars had aligned and it was like they were meeting for the first time.
