President’s Message

Welcome to the 17th Annual Energizing Summit! The years have flown by. In February 1997 American Board of Certified Haircolorists was preparing for it’s first exam. In it’s intial stages, the original commitee developing the curriculum was able to spend a great deal of time together talking color. Later it was expressed by every one of them how much they had learned from one another. Day to day we work in the same surroundings so we seldom have the opportunity to observe other haircolorists working and be able to exchange ideas and techniques with them. That is where the Energizing Summit comes in. We offer small classes so you have a chance to ask questions and interact with the educators in a more personal setting. There are a variety of haircolor subjects to choose from so you can really focus on the areas you need help in most. We have and will always fight to cotinue to elevate our industry and produce fabulous haircolorists. We are here for you. Take advantage of the exceptional talent we have gathered this year. We look forward to your participation and encourage you to work towards being the best you that you can be!

57 YEARS AND STILL GOING STRONG I’ve thought a lot about this keynote and my delivery and what I hope to convey to my audience and project some value to my talk. I have over the years participated in many aspects of the industry; as a student, an employee, a salon owner, a guest artist, an educator, a manufacturer and a marketeer. Many things have changed dramatically over the years but never more than what is happening now. This keynote is going to talk about many of those things but I really want to focus on what I see as the future for our business in haircolor. Looking forward to seeing all of you at this years Energizing Summit.

Advanced Consultation Experience Ame and Dennis share a blueprint and secret service that they have developed for an Advanced Consultation Experience (A.C.E.) that is easy to follow, organized and will guarantee results. This is an informative, fun, learning environment. The haircolor is a success or failure before you ever apply the color. Studies show that the #9 reason that guest returns to the salon is the haircut or color itself. The #1-8 reasons are all about how they were treated, the relationship that was built and how they left feeling about the experience. The A.C.E. has been an essential tool they utilize on a daily basis in their successful salon. Learn to give the perfect color consultation to explode sales and guest retention, live more confidently and organized as a salon professional and instantly gain referrals, great online reviews and make more money in your career. Rise to the level of consultation mastery that you seek today!

Sunday: 2:00pm 3:30pm Monday: 9:30am 11:00am Lecture Interactive

This class is all about bleaches. Working with a variety of bleaches, each participant will put their bleach through its paces. Then the participants will compare results: which is faster, which is slower, which produces the most dust when mixing. It is also interesting to note the pH of each bleach and how much it changes the longer the bleach has been mixed. The price of each bleach is explored to see if the more expensive bleaches are worth the additional money. You will come away from this class with a world of knowledge about bleaches.
