Cheyenne Mountain State Park Located south of Colorado Springs on Highway 115, at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain, this 1,680-acre park offers miles of trails and spectacular places for picnics. The park is a haven for wildlife. Mule deer and elk are plentiful in the park. Other residents include black-tailed prairie dogs, coyotes, foxes and red-tailed hawks. Though you may not see them, black bears, bobcats and mountain lions also live in the park. There are over 100 species of birds, including wild turkeys, peregrine falcons, golden eagles, American kestrels and many migrating birds. (719) 576-2016

Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Founded in 1936, the Fine Arts Center is a privately funded, non-profit art museum, performing arts theatre and arts education center. It is a place to learn about, appreciate and practice the arts. The Fine Arts Center is an accredited member of the American Association of Museums (one of the first 16 so accredited) and the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
