Flathead Lake Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River and is a beautiful playground for water sports enthusiasts. Boating, fishing, sailing, kayaking and wildlife watching. Located south of Kalispell off Hwy 93.

Wild Horse Island State Park The largest island in Flathead Lake, Wild Horse is a landmark rich with history. It preserves an endangered palouse prairie environment and is home to Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, full curl rams, trophy mule deer, eagles, osprey, wild horses and other critters, as well. Some of the best watchable wildlife in Montana.

Izaak Walton Inn Newly renovated historic railroad inn. Built in 1939, this half-timbered inn doubles as an informal railway museum. Railroad memorabilia and Glacier Park mementos. Going-to-the-Sun Road A scenic landmark crossing Glacier National Park between West Glacier and St. Mary. The 50-mile paved road was built in the 1930’s and is considered a National Landmark. The road is narrow, steep and winding with pullouts for viewing. Travelers should plan to spend 2-3 hours to complete the distance. Inquire at Park entrance stations regarding construction delays and vehicle size restrictions.

18,000-acre national wildlife refuge. Home to buffalo, elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, bighorn sheep and pronghorn sheep. 19-mile scenic drive offers visitors best opportunity to view wildlife. Visitor center and picnic area. Open daily during daylight hours. Admission charge. Located 30 miles south of Polson off U.S. 93. 132 Bison Range Road, Moiese, MT.
