Old Faithful was named by the 1870 Washburn Expedition and at one time referred to as “Eternity’s Timepiece” because of its consistent eruptions. It erupts most frequently than any other large geyser at Yellowstone. One of the most visible geysers in the park, it can shoot water up to 140 feet into the air on average.
Uncle Tom’s Trail
Take a hike from the top of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone to the base of the 308-foot-high Lower Falls. The Lower Falls is one of the most electrifying waterfalls in the park and you can almost always see a rainbow shining through. Be wary of the steep staircase and remember once you reach your destination, you have to climb back up!
Yellowstone Lake
Take a chance in a raft, hop in a kayak or jump in the lake! There is much to do in the water. Witness the wilderness in a way few visitors ever have.
