#TravelerInfoGuides

We believe in visionaries who can turn skyscrapers into mountains. Early risers who would rather cast a line than wait in one. Optimists who are only over-booked when they’ve packed too much to read. We don’t believe in tourists.

We believe in explorers. Explorers welcome. VisitCOS.com 6

VISIT

Colorado

Scenic beauty abounds in Colorado with plenty of things to do. Spend time in Denver or Colorado Springs. Visit the towns along the Front Range or get up into the mountains. There are 54 peaks of 14,000 feet or more. If your interest is in native culture, there are many museums – plus explore Native American archaeological sites such as Chimney Rock National Monument, Crow Canyon or Mesa Verde. Explore the Western Slope where towns like Durango, Pagosa Springs and Telluride still reflect the western influence of their mining and ranching heritage. There are lakes and rivers for boating, fishing, kayaking and whitewater rafting. Colorado is the headwaters for several major rivers, including the Colorado, Rio Grande, Animas and Arkansas. Outdoor adventures await in 42 State Parks and 4 National Parks and all the wide-open spaces in Colorado. For more ideas and helpful information please visit the websites of our partners listed in the directory and those listed below.

Cripple Creek - a historic gambling and mining town that’s one of the most dynamic and scenic tourism destinations in Colorado. The grandly restored Old West brick buildings along Bennett Avenue, surrounded by majestic mountains, boast nine unique state-of-the-art casinos, as well as great museums, attractions, restaurants, shops and hotels. The excitement that drove the Greatest Gold Rush Ever still lives in Cripple Creek, where treasure seekers and hooligans from near and far try their hands at poker, black jack, roulette, craps and slot machines with the highest casino paybacks and most authentic casinos in Colorado. Just 1 hour West of Colorado Springs (Hwy 24 West to Hwy 67 South)
