The CESL Voice Spring 2015

Reflections From a Former CESL Student By Abobaker Basodan Exciting things are going on at CESL!

I had a lot of great experiences and I have made a lot of memories at CESL because I spent a lot of time there. When I came to CESL from Saudi Arabia I started in level 50 and I finished CESL with the Bridge Program, so I spent about eight and a half months in CESL. In that time I met a lot of friends from different countries like Angola, Brazil, Mexico and many others. I learned a lot about their cultures and the languages. Also, the teachers there were very respectful and helpful with the students and tried to help us as much as they could. When I finished the CESL, I went to the university by endorsement. I am now studying computer programming at the University of Arizona.

CATT Teachers would like to share what they have learned in the CATT Program. “I have implemented strategies as the handling of materials and "flip the classroom," making the room more interactive. The students are happy sharing their knowledge through video which has reinforced learning, managing to raise their grade point average.” José Julio Arroyo Hernández CATT November, 2014

Student Activities The spring 2015 CESL international festival was a source of friendship and cultural learning for all those that attended. The mixture and celebration of such diverse cultural backgrounds supported feelings of appreciation, love and a desire to learn. From the tables to the performances, representative of each country, there were opportunities to interact and learn more about the cultures of students at CESL.
