CENTER FOR ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE Since 1968, the University of Arizona’s Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) has been serving UA and the world through high-quality Intensive English Language and Teacher Training programs. As the only institution in Arizona with center-wide accreditation from the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA), CESL provides superior English language instruction to speakers of other languages through quality teaching and a curriculum that provides a rich and engaging learning environment to prepare students for social, academic, and professional success at UA and other academic and professional settings. Some of the highlights for the CESL program include: center-wide CEA accreditation, Intensive English Program, Academic Bridge Program, Teen English Program, year-round sessions, special electives such as TOEFL and IELTS preparation, and small classes with individualized attention and support.

HONORS COLLEGE For the last 50 years, the University of Arizona Honors College has admitted the most academically and artistically talented students from all over the world. As an international Honors student, you have the opportunity to go beyond the boundaries of a typical college class, dig deeper into the material, and be challenged in new and exciting ways. The UA Honors College offers a series of specially designed Honors-only classes that help you stretch your imagination and connect ideas across academic disciplines. Honors academic advisors are available to provide assistance, but ultimately, you choose the combination of diverse experiences and courses that help you grow professionally and personally. In addition, you will receive a variety of privileges, including curriculum flexibility, smaller classes, research opportunities, priority registration, Honors-specific scholarships, Honors residence halls, and help with graduate school admission.

STUDENT SERVICES
The Office of International Student Services (ISS) supports the international student population at the University of Arizona through advising, programming, referral, liaison services and advocacy. Through its programs and services, ISS assists international students to succeed academically, personally and professionally during their experiences at UA. International Student Advisors are readily available and serve as liaisons between students and academic and administrative departments, state, federal and foreign agencies and provides immigration advising and document processing. ISS also serves as a hub of activitiy for international students at the University of Arizona. Throughout the year the office provides a wide variety of programs and support services on campus and in the community, including a specialized International Orientation program, a global community in the residence halls and field trips to local area cultural events.

CONDITIONAL ADMISSIONS
High achieving applicants are eligible to receive scholarships. Students who are fully admitted are automatically considered for award. Applying early to UA for admission is important since funds are limited.
Students who meet the UA’s academic requirements but do not demonstrate English proficiency will be offered conditional admission. Conditionally admitted students have the opportunity to experience the UA and its surrounding community by attending our nationally accredited English as a Second Language program, CESL.
ACADEMIC BRIDGE PROGRAM (ABP) The ABP is especially designed for qualified undergraduate students wanting to matriculate at the UA, preparing them to enter any major they choose. The ABP offers qualified and conditionally admitted students the opportunity to earn university credits, while receiving ESL support and paying reduced university tuition.

GRADUATE COLLEGE For those international students who wish to pursue graduate studies, you’ve come to the right place! The UA Graduate College offers more than 100 doctorates and 140 master’s degrees, in addition to research and training in over 80 centers and institutes. Many of our programs are top-ranked in the U.S., enabling students to work with leading researchers in their field. The Graduate and Professional Student Council offers social and cultural activities and ways to get involved and represent the interests of graduate students. With an emphasis on interdisciplinary research and commitment to diversity, it’s no wonder why almost 1,500 international students—out of a graduate student body of 7,000—pursue graduate degrees at the UA.
