About the CFC The CFC has always been a place for imagination, where creativity, knowledge, and opportunity thrive. We are a charitable cultural organization founded by award-winning, internationally acclaimed filmmaker Norman Jewison more than three decades ago. The CFC was established as a centre for advanced film studies, where storytellers could learn to master the medium of filmmaking and ultimately command a place on screens around the world.


What We’ve Accomplished Today, the CFC is a prestigious career accelerator and launchpad for Canada’s best – more than 1,800+ alumni and counting. We are home to a range of intensive programs in film, television, acting, music and digital/immersive media that empower, shape and advance opportunities for Canadian creators and entrepreneurs working in an ever-evolving screen industry.

Room to Dream • Diversify and increase revenue streams • Work strategically with all levels of government • Ensure presence and creative impact at the community, national and international levels • Expand stewardship efforts and stakeholder engagement • Stay technologically relevant, accurately collect data, increase automation and procedural efficiency • Increase online and social audiences

Inclusion is at our core and the compass in everything that we do. We will listen, learn and take action. There is power in allyship and we are committed to change. • Remove all systemic barriers to access to CFC programs, initiatives and events

• Develop, launch and report on corporate-wide DEIA strategic plan

• Identify and pursue new screen-based industry partners (local, national and global) that speak to an evolving market

• Establish budget for DEIA training and initiatives

• Reform our Board of Directors in conjunction with Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA)

• Prioritize training and advancement opportunities for CFC staff • Launch bi-annual internal Organizational Effectiveness Survey • Align DEIA goals across the organization (staff, Board of Directors, alumni, new hires, guests and mentors)
