Called "a haunting artist to watch" by Rolling Stone, Alexandra Petkovski is an accomplished composer, producer, songwriter, artist, and multi-instrumentalist from Toronto, Canada. Alex creates genre-defying music exploring contemporary polytextural, orchestral cinematic, hybrid-synth, trailerization and vocalise sonic spaces. A first place award winner for SOCAN’s 2022 Emerging Screen Composers Awards, 2022 Hollywood Music in Media Awards and 20th Annual Game Audio Network Guild Awards, her work can be heard across platforms like Fortnite, SXSW, Playstation, Disney+, TIFF, Amazon Prime, Netflix, HBO, and PBS.

Aubrey McGhee is a Toronto-based composer and musician who has been an active performer in the city over the last decade. Between touring the country from coast to coast to coast with various acts and contributing to multiple projects, IRememberTheFootprintsinTheSnow, “Anywhere But Here” by Tika, “Good Morning Hunter” by Odario, and “Need You” by HMLT, Aubrey hopes to continue to inspire and help other creatives tell their stories through art and dialogue.

DEANNA H. CHOI

Deanna H. Choi composes music for the screen and designs sonic environments for live performance. Having previously studied neuroscience, the study of human behaviour informs her work as a storyteller. Recent film credits include Last of the Right Whales (HitPlay/CBC), Relax, I’m From The Future (Universal/Wango Films). She is a classically trained violinist, has designed over 100 theatre and dance productions across Canada, and teaches at the National Theatre School of Canada. She is the 2020 laureate of the Pauline McGibbon Award, and an SCGC member. She has served in artist residencies at the Ban Centre, SOCAN Foundation, and Necessary Angel Company. KAÏA KATER

Kaïa Kater is a Juno Award-nominated and Polaris Prize-longlisted songwriter of Grenadian-Canadian heritage. Her voice and de songcra have garnered acclaim from CBC, BBC Music and Rolling Stone. Her recent film work includes original music for the CBC/BET+ Emmy nominated series The Porter, as well as a song places on Global TV’s Mary Kills People. Kaïa has toured internationally, including notable performances at NPR Tiny Desk Concerts and Carnegie Hall. Kaia released a new single (“Parallels”) in October. KALAISAN KALAICHELVAN

Kalaisan Kalachelvan is a composer based in Toronto, Canada. His compositional practice spans multiple disciplines, drawing from film, dance, theatre, installation and concert music. Named by Ludwig Van as one of “six emerging Canadian composers to keep an eye on”, Kalaisan is a 2021 Fellow of the prestigious Sundance Composers Lab and is one of the awarded grantees of the Sundance Institute’s Art of Practice Fellowship. He has held residency at the Ban Centre for Arts and Creativity and is an alumnus of the Canadian Film Centre’s 2021 Slaight Music Residency. In 2022, Kalaisan scored celebrated feature films that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (This Place) and the Fantasia Film Festival (The Protector).

Sco Harwood is a songwriter, film-composer and producer whose blend of classic musicality and forward-thinking production have made him a standout.

As Sco Hardware, he has released four full-length albums and toured internationally. Of his latest collection, Ballad of a Tryhard, Pitchfork says ‘sincere, presented with sophisticated arrangements’ while calling it ‘singular and personal’. Having collaborated across many genres including coming-of-age comedy, documentary, horror and suspense, Harwood is now completing work on his first feature doc, Celestial Queer: The Life Work and Wonder of James MacSwain as well as fictional shorts by Canadian up-and-comers Chloé Hung and Nick Butler.
