La Sainte-Chapelle The Sainte-Chapelle is 610 meters or 6,652 square feet, twice the size of a typical IMAX screen.
It was built in 1248, the architect is unknown, but King Louis IX was thought to be the architect. The chapel was mainly built to house important relics, such as Christ’s crown of thorns, a fragment of the cross and a nail. Although it no longer houses these relics they are still a huge part of the Church’s history.
During one part in history, the chapel was considered “heavens most beautiful rooms”. It was greatly damaged during the French Revolution, but it was quickly restored.
Maddie Perotti
The Chapel helped to position King Louis IX as the central monarch of western Christendom.
The Church has a gothic architectural style and is made out of, carved wood, gold, silver, precious stones, many stained glass windows and much more. It also has many beautiful statues that leave people in amazement.
The La Sainte Chapelle is made of two different chapels, the lower chapel (originally dedicated to the officers) and the upper chapel (dedicated to the king and his family).
About 800,000 people visit the building each year. If you wish to visit, it is open every day of the year (from 9 AM to 5 or 7 PM), except for January 1, May 1 and December 25.
Maddie Perotti
La Sainte-Chapelle means “the holy chapel” in French. (Below is a brief video on the history behind the church).
It is located on 8 Boulevard du Palais, 75001 Paris, France (the heart of Paris). The easy way to get there would be by Subway, through line 4, station cite.

Learn about the Eiffel Tower ● About 7 million people visit every year ● On the 10th of September 1889 Thomas Edison visited the tower ● In 1902 the tower was struck by lightning and 100 meters of the top had to be rebuilt. ● In 1940 Nazi soldiers had to climb the top of the tower to hoist the swastika and the flag got blown away. ● During the cold weather the tower will shrink about 6 inches. ● Since opening the Eiffel Tower over 250 million have visited the tower.
Learn about the architect/architecture The architect is Alexandre- Gustave Eiffel he also designed and built the Statue of Liberty. He was also involved in a catastrophe attempt to build a canal in Panama he failed miserably and because of that his reputation was badly damaged. While Eiffel still receives full credit for the site that everyone loves, it was actual one of his employees named Maurice Koechlin who came up with the concept of the tower. The final blueprint for the tower called for more then 18,000 pieces of puddle iron which is a type of wrought iron used in construction. They also used 2.5 million rivets, about several hundred workers spent two years putting the framework together.

All about the architecture These were created by people taking out stone from the underground tunnels. They used the stone that they took out for many reasons like building. Once the cemeteries got full they were able to move all of the dead bodies into the underground tunnels. Then they got their name the catacombs.

There are more news about the Place de la
Concorde like, the Place de la Concorde now has an uplifting view across parkland to the broad Champ Elysee and the gracefully curving the River Seine. And also as I said in the first paragraph, January 21,1793,it here that King Louis XIII was beheaded.According to eyewitness, Crowd members rushed to the guillotine to dip their fingers and handkerchiefs in the king's blood. His wife,Marie Antoinette also fell under the same blade soon after.By then, the terror, was led by a lawyer called Maximilien Robespierre, was expanding its scope until nobody was safe. One former revolutionary hero, the burly orator Danton, would find himself facing the guillotine. As he mounted the scaffold he said wryly to the executioner,”Make sure you show my head to the people;it's worth seeing.” Soon after,Parisians rose up against Robespierre and dragged him to his death, after which the guillotine was covered up and eventually destroyed.
Michele Opoku. There are many interesting things at Place de la
Concorde some are; -You can take Pictures with the statues. -You can also be dipping your fingers in the water. -You can also sit on the walls that are around the statue.
