One of the fundamental differences between Allen Park Business Centre and traditional office space is the extensive u s e o f r a i s e d - f l o o r t e c h n o l o g y t o d i s t r i b u t e m e c h a n i c a l , H VA C and electrical systems. This allows for hidden ductwork and simplified improvements in user comfort and efficiency over traditional office buildings, as well as faster and less costly reconfigurations.

Without a dropped ceiling, natural light can reflect off concrete ceilings to create a casual ‘loft-style studio’ feel. The additional ceiling height can be used to accommodate suspended indirect light fixtures, which provide even, glare-free indirect lighting. Reflective sunshades allow for natural light and heating–deflecting sun in the summer reduces solar heat gain for more efficient cooling, and allows additional natural heat in the winter. The great amount of natural light allows the ar tificial light to be reduced when not required. This approach is extremely energy efficient, fur ther reducing operating costs.
