CONGRATULATIONS ON 70 POWERFUL YEARS OF MINISTERING GOD’S WORD
C
ongratulations to CFNI on your 70th anniversary! What significance!!! It seems like yesterday that I was attending, singing and traveling with Living Praise—learning New Testament and Old Testament Survey! The lessons that I learned and the seeds of worship that were planted are still being harvested in my life! I celebrate you for training us from every nation to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the same! Thank you for what you do and for the contribution you have made to my life ... Your faithfulness is being multiplied. Great is your reward. Nicole C. Mullen Recording Artist / Songwriter My Redeemer Lives
T
he history and legacy of Christ For The Nations is sacred and holy. For 70 years now, the CFNI family has faithfully carried Gordon and Freda Lindsay’s mandate to impact nations by stewarding the hearts and minds of its students through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have personally been impacted by the students CFNI has empowered and equipped to touch the earth. From serving with missionaries in foreign lands to hiring dozens of alumni—my life, ministry, and family have been deeply impacted by the institution. Now, we have the privilege of impacting the nations together. Congratulations on reaching this remarkable 70-year milestone! I believe the latter glory will outweigh the former, and the best days still lie ahead for CFNI. Michael and Lorisa Miller Founders and Senior Pastors of UPPERROOM

ON 70 POWERFUL YEARS OF
I
thank God for the opportunity to have studied and graduated from CFNI, where excellent teachings and preparation were poured out into my life, enabling me to accomplish God’s calling. With the foundation and tools we received, my wife, Reina, and I planted our first church CRISTO A LAS NACIONES (CHRIST TO THE NATIONS) in El Salvador. Today, we’ve planted over 43 churches in the United States, Mexico and Central America. During the years, we were assisted by elders/mentors, like Dr. Eric Belcher and Dr. Jack Hatcher, who strengthened our arms in missions, church planting and evangelism. Currently, I am a Presbyter of CFN-Fellowship of Ministers and Churches (FMC). Ricardo Antonio Salazar Pastor CRISTO A LAS NACIONES, El Salvador
I
express my gratitude to the Lindsay family for 70 years of hard work and excellence in ministry. The purity of the teachings of CFNI have been a pillar for over 28 years of our ministry to touch people’s lives with the Word of God. As the Director of CFNI Central America, my mission has been to pass on to our students these teachings with the spiritual essence of their founders, Gordon and Freda Lindsay, to impact generations. We are very honored to be a part of this powerful and prestigious legacy. Reina de Salazar Director of CRISTO A LAS NACIONES, El Salvador

ow wonderful are all the blessings that flowed into this world, released by the ministry of CFNI. World-changer— the name says it all! Without CFNI there wouldn’t be a Glaubenszentrum. The founders came to Germany inspired, motivated, empowered by the Holy Spirit and supported by CFNI Dallas. Throughout the years, CFNI as our “mother” remained faithful. They strengthened us in our pioneering phase, as well as giving backing in difficult times. The spiritual focus to train people for the harvest and in discipleship is a mission and mandate of our Lord Jesus we desire to fulfill with devotion. Likewise, our advanced training School of Worship has evolved by inspiration of CFNI. Many thanks! May future generations be equipped and trained to be sent into this world. reetings to our CFNI Family … and Happy Anniversary! It was 14 years ago ... but it seems like yesterday that we were in the back row of the IB during a time of worship. The auditorium was full—all I could see were hundreds of hands raised in worship—all I heard were hearts crying out— in love with Jesus. I fell to my knees as I heard the Lord speak to me in almost audible words: “Help Me do this in Colombia!” At the end of this year, 2018, CFNI Colombia will be celebrating 10 years! Over 600 graduates from 20 nations. We’re so thankful that Gordon and Freda obeyed the Lord’s challenge. We’re so thankful that the Lord has allowed us to be a part of this awesome story. CHRIST FOR THE NATIONS
ASSOCIATED BIBLE SCHOOLS By
Dr. Randy Delp (Director of International Ministries)
n the 1970s and 80s, Freda Lindsay had so many international scholarship requests to attend the Dallas school, that she established a new strategy. She raised monies to help graduates purchase properties, to facilitate Christ For The Nations Bible Schools in their own countries. She realized that starting international extension schools would allow more students to connect with Christ For The Nations. These schools would be like seeds whose DNA had been transplanted by CFNI graduates, returning to their home countries to put into practice what they had learned in Dallas. Her good friend, the late Stanley Walters, helped build nine schools in two continents: Belarus, Brazil, Columbia, Moldova and Poland. He also helped build three schools in Romania. In 1992, Randy Bozarth envisioned an association that would connect all of the Bible schools around the world. Today, the Association of Bible Schools has seventyone colleges that are impacting every inhabitable continent.
Lanka Bible School
WE HAVE SCHOOLS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:
• 23 schools in Africa • 16 schools in Asia and the Oceanian Region • 9 schools in Europe • 8 schools in Mexico • 8 schools in Central America and the Caribbean • 7 schools in South America
Eluru Bible School goes to the Leper’s Village, situated next to the garbage dump. Pastor Ebenezer goes once a month to supply food for these people who live as outcasts.
These schools were started by alumni or good friends with relevant ministries. Like any healthy plant, schools are now starting to reproduce. Christ For The Nations Mexico has started two schools. Last year, the association received Christ For The Nations, Albania, which was started by a graduate from Glaubenszentrum in Germany. Also, Reina and Ricardo Salazar oversee Escuela Apostolica Ministerial Cristo a las Naciones, El Salvador. They have established schools throughout Central America, including: Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua and two schools in Honduras. Before Christ For The Nations was ever a Bible School, we were a missions organization that touched the lives of people around the world. We are looking for local churches, pastors and missionshearted people who share our heart for the world, to invest into students at Christ For The Nations Institute and include us in your regular mission’s budget. Will you help us? Please go to: cfn.org/missions. Together we are making a difference and impacting humanity with the gospel of Jesus Christ. CFNTheVoice.com

EUROPE REPORT
CFNI STUDENTS
God has surpassed all our expectations on this trip to Europe as He moved mightily from the Italian hilltop towns to the seaside cities of Portugal. Through authentic relationships, we were able to impact the people we encountered along the way. Our unity in Christ allowed us to complete every assignment—prison ministry, street evangelism, worship nights, youth and kids’ ministry. Destinies were changed by the power of the Holy Spirit as the team became the full expression of God’s love and Joy. Our common goal and common identity became the cornerstone of this outreach. 16

HAITI REPORT On the 2018 Haiti Outreach, there were
CFNI STUDENTS
14 students and 2 staff members who went to share God’s love. We ministered to over 200 children and families from L’Acajou, a small rural community outside of Ouanaminthe, one of the largest cities in northeastern Haiti. In partnership with Aslan Ministries, our CFNI students imparted the Word of God, played games, did crafts and other services, as well as had powerful worship times every day. We did what Jesus called us to do. We encountered God moving in their lives, not simply for a moment, but for a new lifestyle. Simple things like teaching, “how to use toilet paper,” in their new restroom that we helped build, or washing their feet as a love expression of Jesus to them. These are just a glimpse of a profound desire from our students to “risk it” for the ones God loves the most, His sons and daughters. Even with a language barrier, through kisses, hugs and prayers there was always a testimony of the power of God ministering in their lives, making this outreach entirely worth it and tremendously impactful for us and the Haitian people.
FLORIDA REPORT The voice of healing has not been silenced! That was the word we got for Florida’s 2018 Summer outreach. Like Gordon Lindsay, the founder of Christ For The Nations did, we also hit the road across several states in the U.S.A. We drove 3,400 miles, across three states, and six cities. Our team visited twelve different ministries where God poured out His love and compassion for the American people. We witnessed many salvations, supernatural healings and baptisms in the Holy Spirit wherever we stopped throughout the trip. America shall be saved, and the healing movement is more alive than ever! JOURNEY REPORT
Journey was the name of this outreach whose purpose was to make an impact in four countries of Southeast Asia. It was a group of 30 brave students. We gave our all to bless refugee children, minister to groups of people who have never heard about Jesus before, carry heavy boxes of donations, food, clothing and Bibles and give them to groups of people who have suffered intense persecution. For over a month, the Journey team had the privilege of stepping into strategic places with the ministry of prayer. God did so many miracles of healing, and it was a privilege to bring both a natural and spiritual refreshing to their hearts.
JAPAN & SOUTH KOREA
18
CFNI STUDENTS
Without any doubt, we can say this past year was the best trip we have ever taken to Japan. God did amazing things through our students. We felt such a unity among the team, which caused the team to be proactive in their ministry time. We saw 7 people on the streets of Japan give their lives to Jesus. Four of them accepted our invitation to go to church and ended up going with us. This year we were able to pray over the suicide forest, believing that the curse over that land has been broken. We also had a great time in South Korea. God gave us an opportunity to visit CFN South Korea, and together, we were able to go to the border of South and North Korea to pray for the unification of these two nations. God is doing great things in Asia. 18

ISRAEL REPORT We opened up with worship and training at Dugit Messianic Outreach Center where Avi Mizrachi, a CFNI graduate, gave a practical training lesson: 4 key points to evangelism in Israel. Then we heard Jacob Damkani’s powerful testimony about how he became a Christian. We encountered many at the beach through worship, playing volleyball, and just simple conversation. Arriving in Israel is truly like coming home. Everywhere we went—we encountered the tangible presence of God. This is not a sightseeing tour; it is an encounTOUR with our Father and Savior. It was quite the experience to see what Jesus saw, walk where He walked and
SILAN CHICKEN RECIPE FROM ABRAHAM ' S TENT While the team was in Israel, they visited Abraham’s Tent. It wasn’t much to look at, but the food was great. One of their most popular dishes is the Silan Chicken. Silan (Date Honey) is a rich syrup made from dates that are native to Israel, which adds sweetness to the chicken. Local kosher markets carry Date Honey.

communion and gazed at an empty tomb, which

brought an overwhelming sense of victory and joy. It was a time of reflection as to just what that empty tomb really means to us as believers. My best description of this trip would be life-changing.
4 chicken leg quarters or 3 breasts 2 teaspoons oregano
PREPARATION Preheat oven to 375°F / 180°C. Mix the silan, soy sauce and garlic together. Place the chicken in a pan and pour the silan mixture over it. Sprinkle the oregano over the chicken. Bake on the top rack for about 45 minutes, until the skin is crispy and the inside reaches 165 degrees. CFNTheVoice.com

THE ONLY POSITIVE ‘CHANGE AGENT’ ON THE PLANET FRED MARKERT
C
HRIST FOR THE NATIONS INSTITUTE has an important place in my heart. I was here in 197677, and it shaped my life, my thinking, and it prepared me for my future. While I was here, I was able to take time with God. I learned how to hear His voice and how to obey His commands. The world has drastically changed since then. Things are going bad everywhere, countries are rising up in war, and potentially, we are aligned to have WWIII by 2025. There is only one solution to the world’s issue—the Church of Jesus Christ. Paul writes in Ephesians 3:10, “His intent was that now,
CHRIST IS THE ONLY POSITIVE ‘CHANGE AGENT’ ON THE PLANET.
through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms …” The church is the answer. The U.S. military is not the answer. The United Nations is not the answer. Christ is the only positive ‘change agent’ on the planet. If you know God and know His voice, and you are willing to make radical changes with faith, we could have the greatest move of God we’ve ever seen. The Word says, “Where sin abounds, grace abounds much more” (Romans 5:20). This generation has the greatest opportunity to see God move because sin is abounding everywhere you look. You can fix this world with faith. I have expressed this many times to church leaders. The reason the world is in such
YOU NEED TO BE A NEW KIND OF LEADER— UNDERSTAND HIS NATUR E, CHARACTE R AND WAYS. bad shape is due to the lack of leadership in present-day Church leaders. The Church is the only transformational agent the world has. We need to be led in new ways … His ways. Leaders are not leading the way God wants us to lead. You need to be a new kind of leader—understand His nature, character and ways. Many don’t even live faithful lives; they are like Paul wrote about. We have a thousand guardians, but very few fathers. God reveals His purposes for the world, but very few use them to lead. Think differently. Look at the Bible in a new light—a new way.
Fred Markert leads Youth With A Mission Network for Strategic Initiatives (YWAM NSI) and the Terra Nova Project (TNP) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His ministry has taken him to 150 countries over the past 30 years. He collaborates on projects with a wide array of churches, denominations, mission agencies, universities and non-profit organizations worldwide. Fred graduated from Christ For The Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas, in 1977, and then joined Youth With A Mission. 20
THE VOICE FALL 2018
HEALING THE GOSPEL Jesus said all creation, not all people. He wants to save cultures, cities, countries. All creation is groaning for the Son and to be set free from sin and the devil. We are only 1 out of 20 countries in the world where the Gospel is declining. Other nations are increasing. Most people don’t hear good news when they hear preachers preaching. It sounds judgmental, angry; we’re not preaching the message of Christ. They ran to Him. If they are not running to us, then it’s not good news. Good news is very different than we’ve been taught. In the Bible, one verse defines an idea and the rest of the Bible fills in that idea. Let the Bible define the good news. In Galatians 3:8 God announced the gospel in advance to Abraham saying, “All nations will be blessed through you.” That’s different than Jesus dying on the cross for your sins. Jesus dying on the cross is the pivotal point in all of spiritual history. I’m not lessening the cross or the importance of it. So, how do we need to talk about the Gospel? How does God want to be known? The good news is that God is a God of blessing. Acts 3:26, sums up what Peter shared after the beggar was healed, “When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
a peaceful life, low GOD IS A infant mortality, etc. GRACIOUS, God is a gracious, WONDERFUL, wonderful, forgiving, FORGIVING, abundantly giving ABUNDANTLY God. This is the GIVING GOD. information that will change the world. This is the only thing that will fix the world. More people received salvation in the decade of the 90s than in all of history. It was almost 1/3 of a billion people who were saved in 10 years. What was the impact? Before the 90’s, 52 percent lived in poverty. By 2014, it was 24 percent; by 2016, the poverty rate was down to 16 percent. What changed it—newly Christianized countries. Through the Church, wisdom conquered poverty, sin, and disease. The majority of remaining poverty is in countries where there are no churches, missionaries, or the Bible. We learned to establish a “Gospel Attitude.”
A GOSPEL ATTITUDE TO EXHIBIT: 1. Loving without Limits. Unconditional love, regardless of how sinful someone is. 2. Embrace without embarrassing. Embrace everyone without embarrassing them. 3. Compassion without compromise. This takes having a personal relationship
God made a Covenant with your fathers. This is the second time it’s said in the New Testament. Then, it was said again in Hebrews 6:14, “When God made His promise to Abraham saying, ‘I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.’” God wanted to make this unchanging fact clear, so for the third time the same message is quoted. Genesis 12:1-3 are the original verses, but this is quoted more times in the Bible that any other verse—I will bless you. God is a God of blessing—This is the Good News! The Gallop polls show that Christianized countries have the highest quality of life. Why? Because God wants to bless us with health, wealth, education,
and walking with people, which most Christians don’t want to do because it takes time and self-sacrifice. It’s not our words, but how we live—we need to have acceptance, but also make them accountable. This is the message of the Gospel.
We need to be radical servants of the living God so we can express Who He is to make the changes that will cause the world to be saved. The bottom line is, He is a good God, and He loves us unconditionally. CFNTheVoice.com

ango trees must be among the most holy trees in the world. Why? Because in the requests for funding from the Native Church Program, the mango tree is very often named as the place where congregations first gather. Likewise, thatched mud huts serve that purpose in many nations. That’s where churches are planted.
M
A sturdy and recognizable church building is what gives a congregation a real foothold in their community. Missiologists say the best way for church growth is church planting. Yes, believers are the church, but having a place to meet—a building—provides much more than a meeting place. It becomes a notable presence, and offers an identity. It tells unbelievers and adherents of other religions that the God of the Bible is in their midst. HAVING A PLACE TO MEET—A BUILDING— PROVIDES MUCH MORE THAN A MEETING PLACE.
And as useful as a thatched hut or mango tree might be, it will always have some tag to it—of poverty, inferiority—of an uncaring God. The Native Church Program offers an avenue where individuals, families, churches, businesses and Sunday School classes can be blessed to be a blessing.

Your partnership is not a handout; it is a way to say to fellow believers, ‘we care.’ It is a way to build a lasting legacy all around the world. One church in an unchurched community is often the firstfruit from which more spring forth, whether it’s close by or farther afield.

GOD OF THE BIBLE IS IN THEIR MIDST.

Unlike church edifices we know, from the simple to the relatively sublime, church buildings in developing nations are used far more than just a few hours per week. The church building becomes a lighthouse, a refuge, a community center. It often serves as a school, a place to run to during pending disasters, a beacon of hope.
