This workshop focuses on how community members can advocate for neighborhood schools during school closure and school budgeting process. Participants will learn how to organize, advocate and challenge School Board decisions.
A primer on local and state legislative and policymaking process and practical guidance on how community activists and advocates can influence budget and policy decisions within these bodies. How to build coalitions, develop a power analysis and an effective strategy.
This session will give tips on navigating School Systems; it will also cover School Choice Process, feeder programs for younger children and private schools.
