T

he Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce will honor excellence in business at its 12th Annual Diamond Awards on Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables. Chamber Chair Sarah Artecona will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies at the annual awards luncheon. Every year the Diamond Awards are bestowed upon outstanding local busineses. It is the Chamber’s signature awards program for top companies in the Coral Gables community. The prestigious Diamond Awards will honor businesses in eight different categories this year. These brilliant businesses will

be recognized for their outstanding performance among five criteria: business achievement, business involvement, community involvement, customer service and workplace environment. We have one new category this year, the Restaurant/Retailer Business Award, in addition to our Small, Medium, Large, NonProfit, Go Green, MinorityOwned and Diamond-inthe-Rough Business Award categories. The annual Diamond Awards are the Chamber’s way of recognizing outstanding companies that do luminous work in our

community, as well as reward those organizations that are achieving stellar success in the workplace. The 12th Annual Diamond Awards are presented by Montica Jewelry. Sponsors include City of Coral Gables and Turnberry Bank. Dan’s Video Creations and Photo Offset are in-kind sponsors. And the finalists for the 12th Annual Diamond Awards are: Go Green Award: American Airlines Arena - The Heat Group, Kirksey Architecture and Original Impressions; Non-Profit: Baptist Medical Plaza - Coral Gables, Dr. John Macdonald Foundation, Guardianship Program and Hands On Miami; Minority Owned Business: Business Centers International and U.S. Century Bank; Diamondin-the-Rough: Law Office of

Parks, Trini In Private; Restaurant/Retailer: Denny’s - University of Miami, Rene Ruiz Couture, Por Fin Restaurant & Lounge; Small Business: Home Instead Senior Care and Kirksey Architecture Medium Business: Business Centers International and Original Impressions; Large Business: Berenfeld Spritzer Shechter & Sheer LLP, Goldstein Schechter Koch, International Finance Bank and Zyscovich Architects. purpose has a goal to collect gifts for needy children, teens and seniors who would otherwise not have a very joyous holiday season. Gifts will be collected and distributed to the CHARLEE Homes for Children, His House, Home Instead Senior Care, Merrick Educational
