Engineers Without Borders Helping build sustainable infrastructure and improve the lives of people in developing communities around the world, while training future engineers to be socially responsible and culturally aware.  Founding corporate sponsor in 2003  Employees involved in local chapters, mentoring students and implementing projects  First company to award grants to employees participating in EWB-USA trips. World Water Monitoring Challenge Encourages community groups to monitor water quality at local watersheds to provide a global snapshot of the quality of the Earth’s surface water.  Employees partner with schools, local officials, and community groups to monitor water quality  Volunteers measure four parameters: pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and turbidity

 Consortium with four South Korean firms to provide a proven combination of technical capabilities, cultural knowledge, client-focused service, innovative project controls technology, and sensitivity to public and governmental concerns

 Numerous administrative, medical, support and quality of life facilities, and living quarters  Rapid mobilization, fast-track schedules, and rigorous controls to successfully meet an aggressive program schedule

 Oversee relocation of 30,000 existing U.S. troops from locations across Korea to a single, expanded base south of Seoul


Panama Canal Expansion Program Client: Panama Canal Authority (ACP) Location: Republic of Panama Project Scope

 New locks and navigational channels for both Pacific and Atlantic entrances

 Assist client with management of contracts and procurements  Develop, install, and maintain Program Management Information System

 Widening and deepening of Gatun Lake

 Interface with locks design/ builder and with all other design and construction activities

Hanford Central Plateau Remediation Site Client: U.S. Department of Energy Location: Hanford, Washington, USA Project Scope

Our Role

 Disposition of SNM, remediation, exhuming, and disposing of buried waste

 Prime contractor for the cleanup of hundreds of buildings and 1,200 waste sites

 Decommissioning and demolition of more than 800 facilities and structures  586-square mile site is the U.S.’s largest environmental cleanup effort  Remediation of contaminated environmental sites and groundwater  Project estimated completion by 2015

 Decommissioning the site to less than 75 square miles  In 2009, the DOE entrusted CHPRC with an additional $1.359 billion in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) funds to accelerate decommissioning and cleanup work across the site 32


Tideway Tunnel Improvements Client: Thames Water Utilities Limited Location: London, England Project Scope

Our Role

 Two major tunnels: the Thames Tunnel, which will be 20 miles long and up to 250 feet deep along the River Thames; and the Lee Tunnel, a four-mile tunnel beneath the River Lee

 Program manager to substantially reduce the level of overflows of untreated sewage

BP Exploration Alaska Arctic Oil Fields Client: British Petroleum (BP) Location: Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, USA Project Scope

Result

 US$1 billion Arctic site development

 Provided engineering, drilling support, fabrication, and construction services

 Engineering, operations & maintenance, drilling, fabrication, and construction  More than 1 million field services from the conceptual man-hours without a phase through startup lost-time incident  Largest modules assembled  Provided 1,700 in Alaska; over 13,000 tons operations & total and a single module maintenance personnel over 3,500 tons and 1,200-piece  Less than 1% transfer work equipment fleet from assembly yard


Oregon State Hospital Replacement Project Client: Oregon Health Authority Location: Salem, Oregon, USA Project Scope  620-bed, 850,027square-foot hospital renovation  Included historic and new buildings and 293,000 square feet of outdoor areas  Sustainably designed to LEED® Silver equivalent level

Result  2-year project completed ahead of schedule and $9.5 million under budget  Won 2012 award for CM excellence from Construction Management Association of America  Despite belief it was “impossible,” hospital continued operations throughout project


Semiconductor Manufacturing Plant Client: IBM Location: East Fishkill, New York, USA Project Scope  Design of IBM’s primary semiconductor production facility using 300mm manufacturing technology  Performed a series of projects for expansive building modifications  4 million pounds of concrete from one retrofit project was recycled as campus roadbed

Result  Largest capital improvement project in IBM history  Largest capital improvement project in New York history  Chosen “Top Fab” by Semiconductor International
