This small sketchbook was one of the first I ever had in 2009 at the same time with Utrecht A4 Sketchbook. It contains rather personal, simple drawings and drafts, which are closely connected with the works in Utrecht sketchbook - most of the serial of works were drawn in both of them and one of the first “stones” was spontaneously sketched on one of it’s spreadsheets.
The first ten pages are full of Christian crosses, the symbols of ritual, symbols of faith covered the most volume of the sketchbook - hands, corroded with wrinkles find their place near pagan idols, a sacred fish lays next to a skull of heavy knowledge. This sketchbook is a traveling notebook - first wind roses were painted in Boston and Chicago, drafts of an old man from Paris in subway, a spreadsheet with work “I will look at your side forever”, which is a pair for another work “Black”, now belongs to my dear friend Jacqueline Herranz in New York.
