I weep for his pain –his torture – his death I weep for his cry of “what did I do?”

I weep for his unheard plea for his Mom! Mom! Mom! I weep for his Mom who could not hear his plea I weep for his Mom who nurtured and loved him but could not save him. I weep for the others in his life who dearly loved him I weep for the future greatness he might have given us I weep, yes, I weep also for the five Black officers that brutally took his life I weep that their hearts have been poisoned by self hatred I weep that their blackness gets left in the locker room As they become blue I weep that indoctrination has taught them that they Are not of us and we are not of them I weep for their Mommas who nurtured and love them I weep that they could not save them from their own ruthless murderous fury I weep for others who may have loved them dearly I weep for our ancestors who could never envision this lynching by a mob of their kindred I weep that our children’s lives not be unjustly taken I weep for them, that they never grow to despise their own I weep… I weep… We weep… For the World.
