Business Breakfast Live with Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Mr. Michael McGrath T.D
Minister Michael McGrath joined us for our Business Breakfast Live on the 9th September. Conor Healy, CEO, Cork Chamber and the Minister had a wide-ranging conversation on current issues including economic and local development, local Infrastructure and the upcoming budget, along with the importance of getting imperative projects like the National Development Plan over the line.

Our New Members Breakfast Live took place on the 30th September with over 25 new members in attendance. Members learned the many ways they can maximise their Chamber membership. It was an engaging session with a diverse range of companies represented on the morning.

Fearghal Reidy joined us on the 26th August to share his thoughts and insights on the future direction of Ireland’s ever evolving and fastest growing City. Fearghal' s presentation showed how the draft Cork City Development Plan ‘Our City, Our Future’ aims to provide a transformative blueprint for Cork as the city embarks upon an exciting phase of growth and change – with sustainability, quality of life, social inclusion, and climate resilience aiming to be at the plan’s core.

Our recent webinar took place on the 24th September and featured active changemakers in our city discussing local examples of the new European Bauhaus concept in action. On 16th September Grant Thornton presented an informative session on Cyber Security. Howard Shortt, Director of Forensics/IT Security at Grant Thornton warned members of the many risks and threats and how best to mitigate them.

A Practical Planned Approach to Returning to the Workplace - HR, Employment Law and Health & Safety Considerations
Our strategic partnership with Adare Human Resource Management was launched on the 21st September with Sarah Fagan, Consulting Practice Manager and HR, Employment Law and Health and Safety expert. This timely session looked at practical considerations when it comes to HR, Health and Safety obligations and hybrid work practices as businesses return to the office environment.

Enabling the Future Workplace
This lunchtime session on Connectivity couldn 't have come at a better time. An enlightening panel discussion hosted by RTE’s Jacqui Hurley took place on the 5th October with Dermot Bannon, RTE’s Room to Improve, Anne O'Leary, CEO, Vodafone and Paula Cogan, Chamber President on the future of work in the post-Covid world and with flexible working becoming a permanent reality, how being connected in the right way is more important than ever.

Who better to hear from at our Leadership Forum Live than former awardee of 'Ireland’s Most Trusted Leader ' and Cork Chamber’s ‘Outstanding Contribution to Business’ , Bob Savage. On the 23rd September, Bob discussed how his company has responded during the global pandemic, his insights into remote and hybrid working, attracting talent and told us his vision of the future of work in Cork!
