ANNE-MARIE McDERMOTT
For over 25 years pianist Anne-Marie McDermott has played concertos, recitals, and chamber music in hundreds of cities throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. A testimony to her curatorial imagination, she was appointed artistic director of the Vail Music Festival in 2011, as well as curator for chamber music for the Mainly Mozart Festival. Highlights of last season included a tour of the West Coast with Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg and the New Century Chamber Orchestra, and performances of the Goldberg Variations. Bridge Records recently released her recording of Mozart concertos for piano and string quartet with the Calder Quartet. She has performed with many leading orchestra including the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Minnesota

Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. She has recorded the complete Prokofiev Piano Sonatas, Bach’s English Suites and Partitas, and Gershwin’s Complete Works for Piano and Orchestra with the Dallas Symphony. Her solo disc of Chopin works was released in 2011. Ms. McDermott is an Artist of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. With CMS she has performed the complete Prokofiev piano sonatas and chamber music, as well as a three-concert series of Shostakovich chamber music. She is artistic director of the Ocean Reef Chamber Music Festival in Florida and The Avila Chamber Music Celebration in Curaçao. She studied at the Manhattan School of Music and won both the Young Concert Artists auditions and an Avery Fisher Career Grant.
PERFORMERS
Cellist John-Henry Crawford of Shreveport, LA, has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra and given concerts in Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, and 15 states across the US. He has performed with musicians such as Roberto Diaz, Amit Peled, Soovin Kim, Joseph Silverstein, Jason Vieaux, and Malcolm Lowe. Future concerts include an all-French recital at the Auditorium Du Louvre in Paris, as well as performances in Memphis, TN (Memphis Chamber Music Society) and Washington, DC with pianist Victor Asuncion. Crawford is in his fifth year at the Curtis Institute where he studies with Carter Brey and Peter Wiley. He performs on his late Austrian Grandfather’s cello made in the 1820’s.
Cellist Lawrence DiBello has participated in several festivals including Bowdoin International Music Festival, The Beethoven Institute at Mannes, and The Moritzburg Music Academy in Germany. Mr. DiBello has taken part in master classes led by artists such as Bonnie Hampton, David Ying, Peter Wyrick, and Peter Howard. He has also played in chamber music master classes led by members of the Emerson String Quartet, the Orion String Quartet, and the Guarneri String Quartet. Mr. DiBello received his bachelor of music degree from Purchase College in 2012 where he studied with Julia Lichten. Mr. DiBello is currently pursuing a master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music where he studies Clive Greensmith.
Born in Shenzhen, Chinese pianist Fei-Fei Dong has been praised for her “natural musicality and beauty of tone” (Cincinnati Enquirer). During the 2013 Cliburn Competition, Ms. Dong was among the top six finalists and won three years of concert tours in the United States. Her inaugural season as a Cliburn winner includes debuts with the Corpus Christi and Big Spring Symphony Orchestras with John Giordano and recital appearances across the United States. Ms. Dong began piano lessons at the age of five, gave her first recital at age 10, and made her orchestra debut three years later, performing Rachmaninov’s Third Concerto with the Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra. She has since appeared with the Aspen Music Festival, Hong Kong, Juilliard, Shanxi, and Shenzhen Symphony Orchestras. She has made debuts in Alice Tully Hall, Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall, and the Louvre Auditorium and been featured multiple times on New York’s WQXR radio. She earned her bachelor of music degree at The Juilliard School under the guidance of Yoheved Kaplinsky with whom she continues to study in pursuit of her master’s degree. Pianist Ruiqi Fang has performed as a recitalist, chamber musician, and orchestral soloist at the Beijing Concert Hall (Beijing), National Centre for the Performing Arts (Beijing), Taipei National Concert Hall (Taipei), Weill Recital Hall (New York), Merkin Concert Hall (New York), and Basilica Menor Del Convento De San Francisco De Asis (Havana, Cuba). Ms. Fang is a winner of numerous piano competitions, including the Zhujiang Youth Piano Competition (second prize), the First Kawai Piano Competition (first prize), the Second Steinway Piano Competition (second prize), Xi’an Conservatory of Music Concerto Competition (first prize
and Bach Performance Prize), and the Artur Balsam Competition for Duos (second prize). She has participated in master classes with Bernd Goetzke, Klaus Bassler, Barry Snyder, Seymour Lipkin, and Menahem Pressler. Ms. Fang began her piano studies at the Xi’an Conservatory of Music in her native China with Inoyatova Gulchekhra (student of Tatiana Nikolayeva). She later earned her bachelor of music degree from the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing where she was the recipient of a National Scholarship. Ms. Fang holds her master of music degree from Manhattan School of Music where, under the tutelage of Solomon Mikowsky, she was awarded the Manhattan School of Music Scholarship and Helen Cohn Award. Juliette Herlin, was born in Paris, France and has received the support from the ADAMI, the Fondation Safan pour la Musique, the French Ministry for culture, the SYLFF as well as the Balas Company. In 2010, she made her Théâtre des ChampsÉlysées’debut in recital. She has given solo and chamber music concerts in prestigious venues such as Salle Pleyel, Théâtre du Châtelet, Cité de la Musique, Musée du Louvre and in Germany, Holland, France, USA, Spain, Sweden, and Belarus. Recently, she played the Schumann concerto in Paris. Ms. Herlin was awarded the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe’s French scholarship and won first prizes of the International Vatelot/Rampal Music Competition and the UFAM Competition in Paris. At the age of sixteen, Ms. Herlin was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMDP) in Jérôme Pernoo’s studio where she obtained her bachelor degree with honors. She later earned her master’s degree at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. She is currently
pursuing a degree in cello performance at The Juilliard School with Richard Aaron and chamber music with David Finckel and Veda Kaplinsky. Ms. Herlin is playing on an Italian cello made in Perugia (1800).

French violinist Chloé Kiffer was born to a family of musicians and started playing the violin at the age of six. She entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique of Paris at the age of 15 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in violin performance. She earned an artist diploma after graduating the Hochschule für Musik Saar in Germany. Ms. Kiffer has won several awards including first prize with top honors at the Bundeswettbewerb Jugend Musiziert in Germany, second prize in the international violin competition Yang Dang in China in 2004, and first prize in the Alois Kottmann international competition in Germany in 2007. Additionally, Ms. Kiffer won second prize in the Lions Club Competition in Germany in 2008, SACEM prize and the special award EMCY in the European Competition for Young Soloists in Luxemburg, 2010, first prize in the international competition Richard Bellon in Germany, 2011, and the prestigious prix de la vocation from the Bleustein-Blanchet Foundation in 2012. Most recently, Ms. Kiffer won the 2013 Eisenberg-Fried String Concerto Competition at the Manhattan School of Music where she performed the Stravinsky Concerto in their opening concert under Maestro George Manahan in October. Ms. Kiffer has taken part in many international music festivals including the Kronberg Academy, the International Music Session in Holland, the Keshet Eilon Music Center in Israel, and the Young Artist Program in Canada. She has participated in master classes with Pinchas Zukerman, Robert Mann, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Lara Lev, Maxim Vengerov, Ivry Gitlis, Edward
Celebrated for her purity and intensity of artistry, critics have described violinist Francesca dePasquale as “clearly a talent to watch” (Pasadena Star News). Ms. dePasquale made her solo orchestral debut at age 9 when she toured Spain with the Main Line Chamber Orchestra. An avid chamber musician, Ms. dePasquale has been a featured artist for the Music@Menlo Chamber Music Institute International Program, Music in the Vineyards chamber music series, Colburn Chamber Music Society, and the Perlman Music Program, and has performed with renowned artists such as Nicholas Kitchen, Ronald Leonard, Robert Levin, Merry Peckham, Itzhak Perlman, and Donald Weilerstein. Ms. dePasquale is currently concertmaster of the Juilliard Orchestra and former concertmaster of the American Youth Symphony, Colburn Orchestra, and the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra. She won first prize at the 2010 Irving M. Klein International String Competition. As a student of Robert Lipsett, Ms. dePasquale earned her bachelor of music degree from the Colburn School Conservatory of Music. Previous teachers include Hirono Oka and William dePasquale, with additional mentorship from Norman Carol and Arnold Steinhardt. Ms. dePasquale currently studies with Itzhak Perlman and Catherine Cho at The Juilliard School as a master of music candidate, where she serves as teaching assistant to Itzhak Perlman as a Starling Fellow. She is the recipient of the Dorothy DeLay and Arnold R. Deutsch scholarships.
Canadian-born violinist Shannon Lee made her orchestral debut with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at the age of twelve. At fourteen, Ms. Lee made her debut recording for Telarc International entitled “Introducing Shannon Lee,” a recital of 19th and 20th century pieces for violin and piano. That same year, she made her European debut with Maestro Christ of Perick and the Nuremberg Philharmonic in Germany. Other engagements have included performances with the Nashville Symphony, Colorado Music Festival, Lewisville Lake Symphony, and Las Vegas Philharmonic. Additionally, she has participated in the Banff Music Festival, Heifetz International Music Institute, Great Wall International Music Academy in Beijing, New York String Orchestra Seminar, Perlman Music Program, Meadowmount School, and ENCORE School for Strings. Ms. Lee is the recipient of the Silver Medal in the Stulberg International String Competition, Bayard H. Friedman Award for Outstanding Student in Performing Arts, and Davidson Fellows Award. She studied with Jan Mark Sloman in Dallas and has performed privately in master classes for artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Jaime Laredo, and Elmar Oliveira. She recently completed a degree in computer science from Columbia University in New York City while studying privately with David Nadien. She is currently attending the Curtis Institute of Music, where she holds the John H. McFadden and Lisa D.
Kabnick Fellowship and studies with Ida Kavafian and Arnold Steinhardt. A victory at the 2012 CAG Victor Elmaleh Competition is the latest in a growing list of awards for Steven Lin, a young Taiwanese-American pianist. Season highlights include debut recitals at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall (CAG New York Series) and Merkin Concert Hall, the Gilmore Rising Stars series (Kalamazoo, MI), Pepperdine University Center for the Arts (Malibu, CA), Chamber Music Society of Little Rock (AR), and the Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech University. Featured concerto engagements include the Tulare County Symphony (CA), where he plays Michael Daugherty’s Le Tombeau de Liberace. The season began with summer festival performances at the Aspen Chamber Music Workshop, under the mentorship of David Finckel and Wu Han, and the La Jolla Summerfest, curated by violinist Cho-Liang Lin. He was accepted into the Juilliard PreCollege Division on a full scholarship at the age of ten to study with Yoheved Kaplinsky. A two-time winner of the Juilliard Pre-College Piano Competition, he made his debut with the New York Philharmonic in Avery Fisher Hall at the age of 13. Mr. Lin earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees at The Juilliard School, studying with Robert McDonald and Matti Raekallio. He is currently pursuing a performance diploma from the Curtis Institute of Music, under the guidance of Robert McDonald.
