Make No Little Plans… (a farewell message from Peter Aust) As you know, I’ve announced my resignation as your chief executive officer effective December 3rd to accept the position of president and CEO of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce in Glens Falls. I have been extremely honored to serve as your leader since 2001 and leave with a great feeling of accomplishment at what we’ve together created. Thank you for your trust and commitment these past 9+ years! Some of you may remember that in the early years of my tenure I wrote a monthly article for the Bottom Line entitled “Make No Little Plans…” This was based on a mantra that I’ve held close for most of my life which is: “Make no little plans…for there is no magic in them to stir people’s souls.” I leave here knowing that over these many years we planned big and cooked up some real magic to build a Chamber of Commerce that is recognized and respected as one of the leading business organizations in the Capital Region of New York state. Because of your commitment, the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County is on a solid foundation and poised for continued growth in the coming decade. I sincerely hope that you’ll continue to support and embrace this enthusiasm and vision as you move forward and encourage other members and not-yet-members to join you in this exciting time. I’m confident that your professional staff and dedicated Board will continue to serve you well in the years ahead and this transitional time will be seamless. In closing, THANK YOU for the opportunity you have given me to lead this Chamber. I have grown both personally and professionally in ways that have completely changed my life, and I will forever remember fondly my time at the wonderful Chamber of Southern Saratoga County.

What is sponsorship marketing? Sponsorship is the financial or in-kind support of an activity, used primarily to reach specified business goals.

Why sponsor? Sponsorship offers the possibility of achieving several goals at once including: Enhancing Image/Shaping Consumer Attitudes— often companies are looking to improve how they are perceived by their target audience. Sponsoring events that appeal to the “Chamber market” such small business owners and other business professionals are likely to shape buying attitudes and help generate a positive reaction. Driving Sales— Sponsorship that allows sponsors to showcase their product attributes can increase sales. The Chamber’s showcases and other events are perfect for this. Differentiating from Competitors— The mere act of sponsoring an event, especially an exclusive sponsorship, is a significant way to create competitor differentiation. Your company name has the opportunity to stand out head and shoulders above the competition. This is particularly helpful if your company wants to combat a competitor with a larger ad budget. Sponsorship allows smaller companies to compete with their industry giants. Enhancing business, consumer and VIP relations— Sponsorships that offers hospitality opportunities such as the Chamber’s Annual Awards Dinner, networking events, and Spring Classic Golf Tournament are always very attractive to companies. Opportunities to meet key customers and solidify business relationships can be crucial.

Is Your Company Information Correct in the Chamber Database? It’s important that we have the most up-to-date contact information about your company, including email addresses of staff members. Please check your information by logging onto the Members-only section of the Chamber website: www.southernsaratoga.org and review the information that is on file for your business. If you do not yet have your username and password, please contact the chamber office at 371-7748.

The Chamber has a wide variety of sponsorships available for 2011.

Thank you!

The CDPHP

®

Difference HEALTH PLANS ARE NOT ALL “CREATED EQUAL.” HERE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE THINGS THAT MAKE CDPHP® SPECIAL: Unlike large national insurers, CDPHP does not exist to make money for shareholders. 1. We are focused on helping members receive the medical services they need to thrive and be healthy.

We were founded by, and continue to be directed by, local doctors. More than half of 2. our board members are physicians who maintain active medical practices in the community. We have strong hometown roots. When you call CDPHP, you speak with a staff member 3. in Albany, N.Y., not someone in another part of the world. CDPHP is a good corporate citizen, supporting dozens of local programs that benefit 4. families and promote health, wellness, and fitness. Our members like us. An overview of our most recent member satisfaction scores 5. can be found at www.cdphp.com. We treat our employees right. For two years in a row we were named one of the 6. top 15 large companies to work for in New York by the New York State Society for Human Resource Management and Best Companies Group.
