elcome to the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches! You have joined the oldest business organization in Palm Beach County and the largest Chamber in our area. As a regional Chamber of the Palm Beaches, we have members from all over the county and from out of state; men and women who are serious about growing their business and making a contribution to Palm Beach County. Many will become clients and customers, while your business grows as a result of your Chamber involvement. Chamber Success was designed to help you get the most out of your investment in the Chamber – both monetarily and time-wise. You will find information about networking events, the Chamber’s website and publications. All of it is intended to ensure that you have the opportunity to take advantage of everything the Chamber has to offer. You will also find a staff directory with contact information on individuals within the Chamber dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. Please contact us with any questions, suggestions or needs that you may have during the year. The Chamber is a marketing, branding and networking vehicle for you and your business. Be sure to attend an Open House Coffee for a complete overview of all the Chamber’s programs and services. We want to be sure that you are familiar with everything the Chamber offers and that you are taking advantage of it! The Members Only section of the website is where you can edit your company information, keywords and upcoming events. Login by clicking “Login to Your Account� at the top of the page.

Members Only Once logged into the Members Only area of the website, you will be able to access a number of features. Some of the most popular features include: Change Login where you can edit your login and password information Business Edit where you can update contact information, employees and keywords Proud Member Logo - get the html code needed to put the Chamber Member logo on your website Community Calendar - take advantage of our community calendar and post your upcoming events for free Access these and other great features which are just a click away.

Business Edit Once logged into the Members Only area, click on “Business Edit.” From this screen you can add or edit your key words and key phrases (separate them with commas) as well as edit your contact information and business description. From this page, you are able to access your employees. Simply scroll to the bottom, click “submit” and on the next page, you will be prompted to edit your employees on file. It is important to keep this information up-to-date so that our e-mails and event notices can be received.

Community Calendar

The Community Calendar is where you submit and manage your upcoming events. Use this page to advertise your upcoming seminars, fundraisers, grand openings, and other events. Simply click “Add a New Record� and fill out the form with all of the event information. Please note that all events will be reviewed and take up to 72 hours to be approved and posted on the Community Calendar.

Member E-Plaque Being a Chamber member adds to your credibility as a business; therefore, we encourage you to place the Chamber Member logo on your website. Getting your e-Plaque is easy. Simply fill out your e-mail address and the web address where the logo will be placed and click “get e-Plaque.� The next screen will provide you with the code needed to put the logo on your site.

Events

The Chamber has at least FIVE networking opportunities for you each month. Most events occur monthly; some are annual and one-time events. Reservations are required for all Chamber events. Breakfasts & Luncheons Meet the Chamber’s corporate members at these topic-related events. Mixers Mix, mingle and meet a lot of new contacts. Held at an area restaurant, hotel or club from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Registration includes complimentary hors d’oeuvres and 2 beverages (beer, wine or soda). Power Networking Networking at its best! This is a focused and efficient way to network. Like speed dating with business cards, this professional event is a great opportunity to tell your story and leave with business cards from contacts you really know something about. Includes buffet. Business Builder - FREE The Chamber has much to offer, but how can you take advantage of all the many opportunities if you don’t know what they are? Learn what type of members attend the various events and get suggestions on what will work best for you and your company. Ideal for new members, new hires and updates on programs added since you originally joined. To Sell is NOT to Sell - FREE Learn How To: Use a more consultive approach to selling, Increase referrals, Close more clients in less time and more! One-on-One 101 - FREE The One-on-One 101 is a workshop on getting the most out of your networking. Attendees learn about: Time Management - Meetings with a purpose, Getting New Business - Turn your contacts into clients, and Tracking success - What’s working and what’s not. New Member Jump Start - FREE Held every quarter, the New Member Jump Start includes a review of the contents of the new member information packet, a tour of the Chamber’s websites and features an opportunity to network with other new members. In addition, there are annual events such as the Annual Dinner and Silent Auction, where the Chair of the Board is installed each year, ATHENA and Business Awards Luncheons, the Golf Tournament and Business Expo as well as others. Chamber seminars and workshops provide information on timely issues such as disaster planning and social networking. Other topics include networking, sales and leadership skills, marketing, branding and business planning. Plan to attend a variety of events and find the ones that work best for you! 9


Sponsorships Monthly Breakfasts The Chamber holds 10 corporate breakfasts throughout the year and starts with the Mayor’s State of the City Breakfast in January that’s attended by over 800 members of the business community. • Breakfast Fast-Pass: pay one time (in advance) for a seat at every breakfast; receive premium seating and you are set for the year. $250 per subscription (or pro-rated for the remainder of the year). • Breakfast Tabletop: displays give you the opportunity to set up a display and distribute materials from the concourse area. It includes 2 seats for the breakfast. $200 (Mayor’s State of the City Breakfast); all others $175 Baseball Dinner The Annual Baseball BBQ will take place in February at Roger Dean Stadium, Spring Training home of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Florida Marlins. Players and coaches attend and participate in a one-hour autograph session followed by BBQ dinner on the party deck with both managers making their forecasts for the upcoming season. Sponsorships include a table for 6, autograph session, give-away and speed pitch. Monthly Mixers Join us after work to unwind, socialize and network with prospective business contacts. Each month, we are at an exciting restaurant, night club, area attraction or hotel for two hours. Included in your registration fee are your choice of two beverages (beer, wine, soda) and an array of hors d’oeuvres spotlighting the venue’s menu. Power Networking Join the sensational networking event that has been compared to “speed dating” with business cards. It is held on the second Monday of the month at 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton Palm Beach Airport. Lunch is included with your registration. Sponsorship of Power Networking is available and includes signage in room and the :60 spotlight. Golf Tournament The Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches Annual Golf Tournament will be held at the prestigious Bear Lakes Country Club in May. It’s a shotgun scramble play followed by an awards lunch. Foursomes, beverage carts, and Tee Ambassador sponsorships are available.

Committees

There is a committee that meets the interests and talents of nearly everyone. Our committees are as follows: AMBASSADORS (Meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month at noon in the Chamber boardroom.) Contact: Kelly Fanelli kfanelli@palmbeaches.org Purpose: • As a public relations welcoming group, representatives greet new members, assist in new member orientations and promote membership retention. • To provide feedback to the Chamber’s Board of Directors regarding the needs and issues of concern to members. • To promote members doing business with fellow members. GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT- Issue Oriented - meets on an as-needed basis. Contact: Dennis Grady dgrady@palmbeaches.org Purpose: • To communicate, through the members of the Governmental Affairs Committee, proposed area, state and federal legislation impacting the business community. • To recommend, if required, coalitions of support through other chambers or the county-wide business alliance for those issues which may have dramatic impact on the local business community. • To accumulate information relative to candidates for the Palm Beach County Commission and West Palm Beach City Commission, and convey it to members, along with recommendations for candidate selection in the city and county elections. HEALTHCARE - Meets at a different health care focused location each month Contact: Kelly Fanelli kfanelli@palmbeaches.org Purpose: • To improve public awareness and access to the healthcare resources available in Palm Beach County. • To involve all healthcare providers, purchasers and payers as active members of the Chamber. • To educate the Chamber members, community and the media on important healthcare issues. WOMEN IN BUSINESS - Meets the 2nd Thursday of the month at 11:45 a.m. in the Chamber boardroom. Contact: Kelley Burke kburke@palmbeaches.org Purpose: • To encourage women to expand their business contacts/opportunities by becoming active participants in the Chamber. • To develop a mentoring program. • To develop educational seminars featuring tools to cope with business and career issues for women. SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY - Meets the 1st Thursday of every month at 8:00 a.m. in the Chamber Board Room. Contact: Donald Burgess dburgess@palmbeaches.org Purpose: - Provide a forum for the discussion of issues of concern to both industries - Assist in promoting the efficient use of technology in businesses, including the development of standards for the management and application of science and technology. - Become a source for information and solutions for business applications that improve the bottom line. At present, membership in the Committee is open to businesses directly involved in the field of science and/or information technology.

Get Involved TRUSTEE PROGRAM The Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches Trustee Program unites CEOs and other top executives from our county’s leading employers with community and government leaders to create a united vision for the future of the Palm Beaches. Trustee Program benefits include a variety of exclusive private events, including the opportunity to hear presentations from high level speakers and recognized leaders in business and government in an informal setting. Contact: Kelly Fanelli at kfanelli@palmbeaches.org LEADERSHIP WEST PALM BEACH Leadership West Palm Beach is a program that consists of six full-day sessions that explore the following topics: City Services, Neighborhoods, Health & Human Services, Education, Arts & Festivals and Economic Development. Members of Leadership West Palm Beach are from businesses, government, neighborhoods, and the not-for-profit sector. The participants will learn about these issues, and are also given the opportunity to question situations and formulate solutions to key local issues. Applicants should be just approaching or already at the decision-making level in their organizations. Individuals who have the potential for advancement to the top leadership positions within their organization and who may play a significant role in the future of West Palm Beach should also apply. Contact: Sandy Pullens at spullens@palmbeaches.org YOUNG PROFESSIONALS OF THE PALM BEACHES “YPOP” The purpose of YPOP is to provide ongoing opportunities to build lasting business relationships amongst area young professionals. YPOP provides an opportunity to showcase the dynamic, diverse and engaged young professional population of Palm Beach County while facilitating professional growth through mentoring and community outreach.
