Welcome

Good evening,

Welcome to the 2023 Gala Evening at the British Hom ing World Show of the Year. Can I thank you all for supporting the Show this year, in these challenging times.

We must thank the Show Committee, ably led by the C hairman David Trippett, and the Stewards and their families, for their continued support; also the RPRA and BHW staff for all the unseen work that they do in organising and advertising the Show.

Since the last show several hard workers for the show have left their employment with the RPRA: Ian Evans (Show Manager), Lyna Zhang (Finance Manager), Karen James (Stallholder liaison) and Donna Russell (entries and results). Each contributed to the ongoing success of our Show.

We now have a new Show Manager, Chris Sutton, who w ill, I have no doubt, carry on leading the Show in the best traditions of our sport.

I congratulate all our successful fanciers, young or old, for their performances in 2022. This year we have many outstanding performances.

Long distance racing took place on both the North & South roads. Racing from the continent was achieved, although the registration requirements proved difficult for many members when racing South.

Thanks to Richard Chambers and Ian Evans for working with Defra and organisations/fanciers to make continental racing a possibility. The RPRA will continue to liaise with all governmen tal departments to obtain the best possible outcome for long distance continental racing.

I thank you for attending tonight and hope you enjo y your evening.

Best wishes for 2023.
