In honor of this milestone we are thrilled to present an expanded series, including a three-concert exploration of the work and influence of Arnold Schoenberg and culminating in a tour de force program featuring his landmark Pierrot Lunaire in May. The Path to Modernism 15th Anniversary Schoenberg Mini-Festival From the very beginning our goal has been to transform the listening experience by celebrating both the rich tradition and the continual evolution of our art form. No composer has personified this philosophy more than the great iconoclast and innovator Arnold Schoenberg. As part of our 15th anniversary, three special concerts will form a fascinating tour through his world. They feature works from the long course of his career, from late Romanticism to free expressionism to the fully modern voice of his later years; as well as composers who influenced him, his peers, his teachers, and a startlingly diverse range of music by his students.
