Agatha Christie, An Autobiography
Dear Patron of the Arts,
Agatha Christie known for her 66 detective novels, 14 short story collections, the world’s longest running play, The Mousetrap, and her books have sold over a billion copies in English and a billion in translation.
Out of her pen, the world’s best detective Hercule Poirot with the interesting mustache who sees all and uncovers the motivations behind any crime in record time. This is the gentlemen who guides us through this cleverly adapted version by Ken Ludwig as we meet a variety of characters each with their own secrets carefully concealed.
This has been such fun to dive into that old school glamour of the 1930s, to re-imagine the Orient Express and the heightened sense of secrecy, the dialects of each and everyone in the cast, and such a challenge to work through the intricacy of the murder that takes place.
I do not wish to give anything away. You need to allow yourself to be enveloped in the story and decide for yourself who you believe is the suspect and then be prepared for the comic and tragic moments as they ensue.
So, like Agatha Christie, I am thankful.
Thankful for the opportunity to create art with our talented players here at Chaminade, thankful for the awesome creatives who work with us and guide our dedicated tech crews. Thankful for the incredible parents who support us by volunteering in every way! Thankful for our supportive administrators.
And now sit back and enjoy a good old fashioned whodunnit, Chaminade Players style.
Yours in the arts, Yvette Lawrence Bishop Director of Drama Program
