The Outlaws Return to Atlantic City

By Amear Moretall Photos by Nick Gaulin

When history records the events of the last week in August 2021, CHAMPS Trade Shows will have beaten the odds once again and successfully brought Atlantic City Convention Center, an event the northeast has awaited. With the remains of Hurricane Ida barreling towards NJ, somehow the weather fairy doused the Atlantic City area with good weather dust, and it saw just a little rain and wind. Our hearts do go out to all those affected and in the line of fire of Ida. We hope for a speedy recovery for them all.

Atlantic City is the Second city for CHAMPS. It was the first place that CHAMPS moved, outside Las Vegas. It has grown every year since then. The hype was tremendous, and the buyers were excited to be there. Atlantic City is different than the Vegas show. It is a more regional show that allows northeastern shops that cannot travel that far the ability to attend a show. Shops from all over the Northeast come for just one or two days. This stat means a whole new batch of buyers attends each day.

CHAMPS was generous enough to give $1000's to one lucky buyer each day! In classic outlaw fashion, one of them has chosen to remain anonymous. So here are a couple of pics from the show and our two shop winners! Tamar from Wizard Smoke Shop and Tony from Hempire State Smoke Shop. Continues On Page 20 Quartz was a big hit on the floor

The Sponsors went all out. The swag bags were huge and filled by the time each buyer left. I heard tales of enough samples that would pay for the whole trip if the shop resold them. From the fabulous bags at the Cali Kulture, Just CBD, and the Beamer booth to the Lost8's, Zion, Ultimate Products, samples, it was easy to see how they filled so fast. Continues On Page 30

When you walked around the show, you couldn't help but notice that there was a considerable buzz around the Glass Games arena. Some big names in the game came out to participate and put on a little show. Even Hugh Glass got on the torch for a minute to demo one of his signature techniques. Well-known artists like Punty and Rocko were spotted in the games arena as well. There were five events to choose from for the artists. Ride It, MultiPipe, (Shots, Shots, Shots), Believe it or Not, and Transparent.

High in Colorado

By Elev A Chun Photos by Nick Gaulin

2021 was a year to remember, from the epic Vegas comes to Orlando winter show to the largest and best-attended summer Vegas show ever. CHAMPS Trade Shows finished the year in classic Denver style. Keeping with the trend of 2021, Colorado was better than ever before, with over 300 booths and the most buyers ever in attendance for a Denver show. The energy was high, and the smiles were more prominent than usual. The New C-hall location didn't bother anyone. It was easy to find and felt just like home.

Zion Herbals

The Sponsors, like most shows, brought their A-game. Upfront, you had companies like Just CBD, CHOICE Nutritionals, HBI, and Partynuts, with larger upfront booths and plenty of samples to hand out. Their staff was busy writing orders from Continues On Page 65 54

beginning to end. Everywhere you looked, you saw buyers actively engaging the vendors and orders taken. If you were into the Glass scene and needed glass, this was the place to be. The Glass Games brought out artists from all over the country. From Southern States like North Carolina, and Florida to the Pacific Northwest states of Oregon and Washington, they came to join the locals who already have a vast local scene. More of the sponsors were located here. Ohio Hippies was on the scene, and Zion Herbals and a newcomer to the scene, Iconic Dohka, parked their Maclaren - AbuDabi Police interceptor on the show floor next to the glass games for all to see. Kr8om, Fuse, Bolt, and AFG rounded out the floor with strategically located booths around the show. It didn't matter what part of the floor you were on. It was busy and packed with great companies to fill your store with. Back to the Glass Games. The Denver Games is famous for bringing the Game of Marbles to life among grown-ups. They also do my favorite Game of the year, The Goblet Grab! This year they added, "At the Zoo." Continues On Page 72

Let me explain just in case you have not been there to play. First, the Game of Marbles. Artists make and bring their own marble set to the show, and it is displayed proudly for judges and the crucial judging. After judging, the players play in a bracket-style Marbles Tournament. The winner of the judging part gets a ticket to the Master's Tournament and a Chance at $10000 Plus prizes! This trophy is one of the most prestigious awards in the Glass Art Scene. Names are made famous, and skills are displayed proudly. The Game of marbles is played for keepsies to win money and each other's marbles and the bragging rights of being the country's best Marble Player. Now for the winners! Next is "At the Zoo" Artists bring a piece themed around the famous Denver Zoo. The assortment of pieces was exceptional. From Giraffe feeding time to a Flamingo, the samples were awesome. There were three clear winners in the competition:

The final and most exciting part of the show was the Goblet Grab! Again, buyers line up to take their chance at taking home one of the fantastic pieces of art. This year, the buyers had to pay $200 for each ticket, giving them a guaranteed choice of one of the Goblets. It is a great way to end the show with each buyer having 30seconds to pick their piece and head home! The Competition Winners are:
