MAXIMIZING SUMMER SALES:
PREPARING YOUR SMOKE AND VAPE SHOP FOR SEASONAL SUCCESS
By CHAMPS Show Mag Writers
As the temperatures rise and summer approaches, it's time for some retail smoke and vape shop owners to gear up for the busiest season of the year while others hunker down for the slow season. Whether you're situated in a bustling metropolis, a beach community swarming with tourists, or a college town experiencing a lull as students head home for break, strategic preparation is key to maximizing your summer sales potential. In this guide, we'll explore tailored strategies for each type of location, taking into account the unique challenges and opportunities they present.

MAXIMIZING SUMMER SALES:
PREPARING YOUR SMOKE AND VAPE SHOP FOR SEASONAL SUCCESS
1. Beach Communities:
For smoke and vape shops located in beach communities, summer brings an influx of tourists seeking relaxation and recreation. To capitalize on this seasonal surge in foot traffic, consider the following tactics:
A. Promote Summer-Themed Products: Stock up on summerthemed vape juices and smoking accessories featuring beach motifs or refreshing flavors like tropical fruits. Highlight these products in your storefront displays and marketing campaigns to attract tourists looking to indulge in the spirit of the season.
B. Extend Operating Hours: With longer daylight hours and increased tourist activity, extending your shop's operating hours can help capture late afternoon and evening sales. Consider staying open later into the evening to accommodate beachgoers returning from a day of sun and sand.
C. Offer Bundle Deals and Discounts: Create enticing bundle deals or discounts on popular items to encourage impulse purchases. Consider partnering with nearby businesses, such as beachwear shops or ice cream parlors, to crosspromote each other's offerings and attract more customers.
D. Host Summer Events: Organize themed events or promotions, such as beachside vape tasting sessions or outdoor smoke lounges, to create buzz and draw in crowds. Collaborate with local event organizers or tourist attractions to reach a wider audience.

MAXIMIZING SUMMER SALES:
PREPARING YOUR SMOKE AND VAPE SHOP FOR SEASONAL SUCCESS
2. College Areas:
In college towns, the summer months often see a decline in foot traffic as students head home for vacation. However, there are still opportunities to maintain sales momentum:
A. Target Local Residents: Shift your marketing focus towards local residents who remain in the area during the summer months. Offer loyalty programs or special discounts to incentivize repeat business from year-round customers.
B. Diversify Product Offerings: Expand your product selection to cater to the preferences of non-student demographics, such as young professionals or families. Consider adding CBD products or herbal alternatives to attract health-conscious consumers.
C. Host Summer Workshops or Classes: Offer educational workshops or classes on topics like DIY vape juice mixing or smoking accessories maintenance. This will not only attract customers but also establish your shop as a community hub for enthusiasts.
D. Collaborate with Summer Programs: Make partnerships with summer camps, intern programs, or local businesses to offer exclusive discounts or sponsorships. Doing this can generate brand awareness and attract new customers while supporting community initiatives.

3. Large Metropolises:
Competition among smoke and vape shops can be fierce year-round in densely populated metropolises. To stand out and thrive during the summer months, consider the following strategies:
A. Focus on Unique Experiences: Differentiate your shop by offering a unique shopping experience, such as live music performances, art installations, or interactive product demonstrations. Create an inviting atmosphere that encourages customers to linger and explore.
B. Target Tourist Hotspots: Identify popular tourist attractions or neighborhoods and strategically position your shop nearby. Leverage location-based marketing tactics, such as geotargeted ads or sidewalk signage, to attract wandering tourists.
C. Embrace E-Commerce and Delivery Services: Invest in an online storefront and delivery services to cater to busy urbanites who prefer the convenience of shopping from home. Promote your e-commerce platform through social media and targeted digital advertising campaigns.
D. Engage with Local Influencers: Collaborate with local influencers or micro-influencers who have a strong presence on social media platforms frequented by your target audience. Partnering with influencers can help amplify your brand message and reach new customers.
By tailoring your strategies to the unique characteristics of your location, you can position your retail smoke and vape shop for success during the summer season. Whether you're catering to beach-bound tourists, summering locals, or urban dwellers, proactive planning and creative marketing efforts can help drive sales and foster customer loyalty in the months ahead. So, gear up, get creative, and prepare to make this summer your most profitable yet!

Pause @ 4:20
By Walt Weedman
At 4:20 on 4/20, the world takes a pause, A moment of peace, a moment to cause
A smile, a chuckle, a nod in the air,
For those who partake, who truly care.
In gardens of green, where laughter does bloom, Under the sun or the light of the moon, Friends gather 'round in a circle so tight, Sharing stories and dreams through the night.
The clock's gentle hand, it points to the hour,
As smoke swirls softly, a fragrant flower.
With each breath, a bond, a moment of bliss,
In this sacred hour, nothing amiss.
The world outside may hustle and bustle, But here in this moment, no need to hustle.
For time slows down in this hazy delight,
As we celebrate peace, love, and light.
So let us raise a joint or a bong,
To the spirit of freedom, to where we belong.
At 4:20 on 4/20, let's unite, In this moment of joy, in this cannabis flight.
Beans and Buds
By Robert Frosty
In fields of contrast, where green and brown collide, Coffee beans and marijuana buds reside. One awakens minds, with its caffeinated call, The other soothes the soul, with a gentle sprawl.
Coffee beans, roasted dark, in morning light, Their aroma dances, a fragrant delight.
Awakening senses with each brewed cup, A ritual cherished, as the sun comes up.
And then, there's marijuana buds, so green, Their fragrance whispers, of a tranquil scene.
Easing the mind, in a subtle embrace, Taking us to a serene, tranquil space.
In the realm where these two worlds intertwine, A symphony of senses, a dance divine.
Coffee beans and marijuana buds, Each with its own tale, in life's rich floods.
So let us sip the coffee, and let us smoke the bud, In this complex world, where opposites flood.
For in their union, perhaps we might find, A balance, a harmony, in heart and mind.

Just a Time
By Emily Danksinson
At 4:20 on 4/20, the clock aligns just right, A moment hailed by many, in the morning or at night.
It's a time to gather 'round, to celebrate the green,
In the heart of every cannabis enthusiast's dream.
The air is filled with laughter, with stories to be told, As friends come together, their spirits all unfold.
With joints rolled tight and bowls packed full, They embrace the moment, feeling joyful and cool.
Inhaling deeply, they welcome the herbal scent, Feeling the warmth, feeling content.
With each exhale, worries dissipate,
Leaving behind a sense of peace, no need to hesitate.
At 4:20 on 4/20, it's more than just a time, It's a symbol of unity, a rhythm, a rhyme.
A moment to cherish, a moment to share,
In the circle of friendship, where love's in the air.
So here's to 4:20, a time of celebration, A symbol of freedom, of joyous elation.
On this special day, and every day hence, Let's honor the plant and the community in its essence.

A single bud’s journey
By William Blazed Yeats
In soil rich, in sun's embrace, A tiny bud begins its race.
From tender stem to leaf unfurl, It seeks to dance, to sway, to twirl. Emerald hues in morning light, A whispered promise, taking flight.
With each day's gentle, nurturing hand, It grows, it blooms, it takes its stand. In fragrant whispers, secrets hide, A mystic journey, deep inside.
A bud of cannabis, so small, Yet holds a universe, in all.
With patience and with tender care, Its essence rises through the air.
A symbol of life's constant flow, A bud of cannabis, to grow.

Java and a joint
By Java Donne
In the quiet dawn, as the world awakes, I find solace in the morning's embrace. With a cup of Java, dark and brewed strong, And a joint to accompany the dawn's song. The aroma of beans fills the air, Mixing with smoke, a delicate affair.
As the first sip dances upon my lips, And the first puff sends me on morning trips. Underneath the golden rays of the sun, I find peace in this ritual begun.
With each inhale, troubles start to fade, As the morning unfolds, a serenade.
The world outside begins to stir, But in this moment, I'm lost in a blur.
A blend of flavors, both bold and sweet, A symphony of senses, a morning treat.
With each puff and each sip, I find, A gentle rhythm, a state of mind.
In this sacred space, where time slows down, I savor the silence, I wear my crown.
So here's to mornings, both bright and new, To coffee and cannabis, a perfect brew.
As the day unfurls with possibilities bright, I start it off just right, with morning's delight.

Zion Botanicals Kratom and Honey
Sustainable Himalayan Honey blended with kratom extract.
The real story here is the Himalayan honey. The flavor is divine. The harvesting of honey there is much different than in the American Honey trade. They harvest the honey from wild nests on the trees on their farms—none of the traditional boxes we see at farms and in back yards of American suburbs.
By itself, it’s sweet with very little aftertaste.
The easiest and fastest way to enjoy it was in Green Tea. One cup, and I felt great.
The color is a rich gold. The taste is really good for something with kratom in it.
The best way I found to get over the taste was to put the packet in some fried chicken skin. That made it the best-tasting kratom supplement I ever tried. Who doesn't love some fried chicken and honey right?
I had to call and get some more to test one other way of preparing it, CHEWY GINGER HONEY COOKIES
It’s a holiday cookie with a great spiced flavor. I went heavy on ginger and cinnamon. We adjusted the cooking temperature to 160 and let them bake for a few minutes longer. In the end, the flavor was actually really good. We made a dozen cookies with three servings in the whole batch.
Cookies and milk, anyone?
It worked! Same great effect but a whole new, more enjoyable way to consume Kratom!
As always, when you shop with Zion, you're doing business with a company that can answer all your questions and point you in the right direction when selling their products.
If you aren’t stocking their line yet, START NOW!
Smoke Odor
Recently, we in the Dankman household had to face the simple facts… We smoke a lot of medicinal herbs. Every delivery driver, solar solicitor, tree removal expert, lawn care company rep, and every guest said the same thing: your house smells great, in very sarcastic terms…
This means that the overwhelming scent is herbal. It didn’t matter when we last smoked; it seemed the house was permeated with the smell. We took this chance to do a complete deep clean and see how well that would dispel the smell. Well, it doesn’t last long.
So, what does a family do if they want to have a fresher-smelling house but don’t want to go “outside” to enjoy a joint? There are a ton of smell-good things.
Incense… ugh, dust everywhere. Plug-ins waste electricity.
Candles add ambiance and pleasant aromas. Daily aromatherapy is very good for the spirit in us all!
Sprays can be fast and frequent. Bathrooms and guests at the door…
The newest scents we tested were Gummies and Magic Mushrooms.
Gummies are sweet and fruity, and that scent definitely came through. We definitely enjoyed this more than most.
I was glad Magic Mushrooms did not smell like the actual dung-loving FUNgi. The scent was flush with delicate hints of the exotic East. The wax is a nice purple color. The label hides a secret that is pretty cool as well—the Label Glows in the Blacklight.
Since starting to keep the handy spray bottle next to the door, not one delivery driver has mentioned the “Herbal Smell.” So the conclusion is…
The candles are wonderful, and the spray is very effective for instantly cleaning the weed-smelling air.
Stores should all carry this amazing line of products from Smoke Odor.
We are firm believers here at CHAMPS Show Magazine.

I make a cup of Blueberry Medium Roast Coffee for my morning start every day. It took a lot for me to give this up.
I did, for two weeks… instead of my delish black coffee… It was this…
The flavor is just okay on its own… not so bad, but definitely not my yummy hot hint of blueberry coffee.
After a couple of tries, I found a nice blend of Half and Half, Sugar, Vanilla coffee flavoring, and a splash of real coffee. It suggests food, so I paired it with a few different things. The best was Cinnamon Toast, with the second best being a blueberry muffin. The label also explained that it takes about 7 days to reach full potential. I dedicated two weeks to this…
I do not take any medications or supplements, so My body was very perceptive to this new regimen.
I wasn’t sure what to expect.
The first day was interesting. I wasn’t sure if it had any effect, but I was really productive either way.
Day two definitely caught me by surprise. The morning cup surely got the plumbing moving and got my brain churning,
They were right; it definitely peaks after the first week. On day seven, productivity and creativity were at all-time highs.
My body had adjusted to the new morning ritual very well. It was just like drinking my coffee but with the added boost of clarity and productivity that lasted a lot longer.
After the full 2 week test I would say that it was an enjoyable experiment in what nature can do for you.
I see this helping many of the people I know.
When it comes to selling this in stores… DO IT! The packaging is amazing, and the benefits are immeasurable.
Steding and Sons is always at the top of their game when it comes to packaging and promotional material. The product should sell itself! Let your staff manager test it out so they can pass on firsthand information on how well it works!

The Duo is our go-to now for beach rides. I can have my Indica Live Rosin, and she can hit the Sativa! Together, you get a full hybrid of two fully flavored strains.
They also sent along one of the most unique products I have ever tested — the CartDub.
I bet you’re as intrigued as I am. It’s a full kit to take broken or half-empty carts and reuse the liquid inside it.
I had a few of these lying around, so why not test it out for them? The three broken ones I had were all locked, so the tool kit came in very handy.
They suggested setting the temperature at 190; since I had a thinner product, I set it at a slightly lower temperature for 10 minutes instead of 20. It worked like a dream! The liquid was all unharmed and waiting in the collection chamber.
I quickly siphoned it up and put it in a new cart. The mixed flavors were nice not as whacky as I expected. I give it a thumbs up.

Herbal Salvation
Gummies
Strawberry Kratom
I was excited to try something new from Herbal Salvation. Their previous products were very well formulated and efficient. The packaging looks great, and you can fit a lot of them on a shelf in a small space due to the stackability.
The gummies themselves are a vibrant red, and you smell strawberry as soon as you open the freshness seal. I popped one in and hoped for the best. A burst of strawberry hit my palate like a rocket. I was glad it was so powerful. It was pretty good, covering the kratom taste.
FAST ACTING… Wow.
When I ate one on the beach while I was doing my photo shoot, it kicked in so fast it made my head spin! (in a good way) These were on point, for sure. I would retake them again.
Voodoo 300
Andes Candies! That was the first thought I had when I read the label. It was creamier but dang, not a bad initial flavor. If you know anything about Kratom, you know the flavor is hard to hide. They hid it around the corner on the back end.
The packaging is well-designed and has a very adult feel. The flavor profile and MIT amounts are easy to read. Something I have always complained about is hiding the tiny text on the bottle!
How does it work?
Oh, ”What a feeling!” It got me dancing now. Not even a bum knee and a sore tooth could stop me.
I haven’t had a lot of really good reactions to Kratom. This was the best one in ages.
Smooth, relaxed, and a lot less aches.
Green Shores Nutra presents this product. They are not one of the big, huge monster companies, and they strive for quality customer service and personal touches. Someone always answers with a smile, you can really hear the smile through the phone.
This will be a great seller any time of year, so order now!
Formula 420 Original
Flower: Yeah, that’s what we tend to smoke here in the office. Mostly Joints and bowls. Every now and then, we break out a traditional bong. I have so many dirty pieces I thought since they were releasing a new concentrate cleaner I would remind everyone about the product that got them on the map.
The team at Formula 420 was sure to send me a sample recently, so I did this review without even telling them.
I am famous in the glass industry for getting my pipes so dirty, then putting them away and using another one. So, as you can imagine, I have some really old baked-on resinated pipes. I pulled a couple from my stash and got to work.
I tried the original and the soak cleaner.
A hammer made by Hugh Glass and a sherlock by BMFT Glass
The soak method is a little like making wine… a little work, then a long wait… then a little work. So I got it to soaking and went to clean the BMFT.
The BMFT Sherlock went into some original cleaner and I use a brush to clean with. It was solid colors so not much can be seen from the outside. I will attest the inside was clean, and the fresh, clean taste revived. This has been sitting in a case or on a shelf for over ten years. I never thought I would enjoy smoking out of it again. Now it’s my daily driver again!
Two days later, I went back to the soaking Hugh Glass Pipe. After running it under some hot water and using a little brush, it was as clean as a whistle! This is one of my all-time favorite color-changing pipes.
This just goes to prove 25 Years later, just like CHAMPS… Formula 420 works for your business!
