What is spirituality?

Spirituality is an extremely broad concept with room for numerous perspectives. In general, spirituality advocates for a sense of connecting to something bigger than just oneself, and this typically involves a search for purpose and meaning in life. It is in every way an experience that is quite universal, and can affect every breathing human being. Spirituality has also been described as a sacred experience that transcends to something greater. It can simply be a deep sense of interconnectedness and aliveness.

Is spirituality connected to religion? Some may have reached spirituality through religion and may find their spiritual life to be intricately linked to their association with a temple, mosque, church, or synagogue. However, many realize their spiritual understandings without having been associated with any religious beliefs. One may find comfort in having a personal relationship with a higher power. Some of the ways that many now seek their purpose in life is through their connections to art and nature. In short, spirituality and religion have trajectories that may or may not coincide.

Centers for Spirituality As spirituality can be defined as the science of knowing oneself, His Holiness, Chamunda Swamiji center of healing aims to help people achieve spirituality. His prime motivation is to reach as many souls as he can, which is why his center has an inclusiveness policy. Every individual from every walk of life is welcome to come and seek spiritual realization at the center. Guruji also firmly believes that one doesn’t need to be trained or require any prior experience in practicing Yoga, mantras, meditation, or follow a religion to access spirituality; he believes it to be one’s birth right.

Guruji began practicing meditation at the age of 10 and today has an experience of over 55 years in exploring the consciousness through mantras and various other ancient healing sciences. However, owing to his magnanimity he doesn’t impose his traditions on any of his students, but only invites them to explore a journey to spirituality that is their own.
