Introduction

Philosophy between the gesture of "sitting" and the object of "tool" in design: as a result of the gesture of "sitting", it produces "tool". The chair is a practical art of living that reflects the user's state of life from the side. The design proposes that: the chair should a sitting tool that can be used freely, not a single-state gesture. It can indicate the identity as well as the individual attitude of the particular user.

SKETCH & MODEL

Design was inspired by hans Wenger's chairs.Through the precedent research, I found that the three-legged chair has great flexibility - it can fit a wide range of sitting positions and achieves a good balance of function and aesthetics. Design of the chair looks into giving the user the freedom to decide how they want to sit, instead of telling users how to sit.

Introduction

The family who owned the project bought a property in New York City as a second home for education and work. The owners wanted a home that was different from a traditional home, a place where they could grow with their children and gather with their friends.

The concept for the project was called a playhouse. The design defined the home for the client as a place where everyone could share their lives. The designer analyzed the client's personality and routine, and compared each client to a small animal, and designed the home as an uninhibited, inclusive, natural playground for these "small animals" to share. The spatial design strategy is to set up private spaces for the individual to meet the most basic functions, while the rest of the residence is a public area to encourage family members to stay in the public area for as long as possible to spend time with their families.
