As the Director of Development for JKHA/ RKYHS, I am pleased to present our first Annual Report, reflecting the school year 2018-19. As a dedicated professional and a proud school parent, I firmly believe that a JKHA/RKYHS education provides the foundation for vibrant Jewish life and prepares the next generation to pass on the torch of our traditions.
JKHA/RKYHS is committed to providing students with academic excellence through a premiere educational program in a 21stcentury learning environment. Over the course of five years, our Campaign for Excellence has helped us deliver on this commitment by infusing $5 million directly to fund a range of academic programs and capital enhancements, and to grow student enrollment.
Yet, an exceptional Jewish and secular education is more expensive today than ever before. The modern world demands modern methods of education, and these, together with an exceptional faculty plus a state-of-the-art facility, come at a steep price. Full tuition does not cover the costs of a JKHA/RKYHS education, and, even with the innovative affordability programs we have introduced to reduce the financial burden of tuition, the majority of our school families need some form of financial assistance. Our major gift campaigns have taken our educational program to the next level of academic excellence and are a bold step towards ensuring the future of a JKHA/RKYHS education. The L’Atidenu Financial Assistance Endowment Campaign, established in 2014, is designed to provide a steady, reliable stream of revenue to perpetually fund financial assistance. As of this writing, we are very close to achieving our goal of having $10,000,000 in total endowment assets. We invite you to learn more about how you can
Our Annual Campaign, which includes the ATID SOCIETY event and Annual Dinner (as well as other ways to give including Parnas Hayom and the Mezuzah Campaign), provides critical support for our annual operating budget (see charts on opposite page for a breakdown of our costs and revenue) and makes a JKHA/RKYHS education possible for every student and more accessible to our school families. This year, our supporters contributed at an unprecedented level, yielding over $1.5 million for our Annual Campaign. The list of our generous and dedicated supporters, many of whom give year after year, starts on page 3. We are so grateful to each and every one of you for prioritizing JKHA/ RKYHS in your tzedakah; we could not do this crucial work without your meaningful support. Fall 2018 Groundbreaking for new recreational facilities
Board members, Livingston Mayor Ed Meinhardt, and the school administration team grabbed hard hats and shovels to mark the beginning of construction of the expansive new outdoor recreational space.

More than 700 parents, students, alumni, alumni parents, community members, friends, and loved ones came together to help build this vibrant new space to honor and remember JKHA parent Naomi Rosenfeld z”l. After a meaningful school-wide program, the students enjoyed a concert and chagigah in the new Center featuring renowned Jewish musician Eitan Katz.
Fall 2018 Dedication of Founders Atrium JKHA/RKYHS dedicated its main atrium in recognition of the school’s early founders. We are grateful to Paula and Jerry z”l Gottesman for their unprecedented support of academic excellence and affordability, and for thoughtfully selecting this naming to honor our historical roots and shine a spotlight on past leaders, including Jerry’s parents.
Winter 2018 ATID SOCIETY Concert More than 430 members of our school community joined together to kick off the JKHA/ RKYHS Annual Campaign with an exciting performance featuring Rami Kleinstein, Israel’s “Piano Man.” The event chairs were Murray and Bat Sheva Halpern.

We paid tribute to a generous group of school supporters who, for the past decade, have helped make JKHA/ RKYHS the strong, vibrant school that it is today.
Winter 2018 New Healthcare Center opens Thanks to a generous grant from the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey, we secured funding to expand and renovate our student Healthcare Center, featuring a waiting room, a testing area, multiple resting spaces, and a private bathroom.

Spring 2019 Senior Poland Experience RKYHS seniors traveled to Poland for a deeper understanding of the Shoah. This visit to former concentration camps and memorials, as well as surviving synagogues, is made possible through the leadership and generosity of a dedicated group of supporters.

Early Childhood and Lower School Playgrounds Our spectacular new recreational area provides multiple opportunities to honor and commemorate your loved ones in an enduring way. The architectural renderings above depict all phases of construction, including those that have not yet been completed. The expansive six acres, comprising three basketball courts, two tennis courts, a sweeping amphitheater overlooking the entire facility, pavilion and pergola, open grass fields for play, and beautiful outdoor classrooms/ seating areas, will encourage healthy outdoor activity for our children. The turf soccer field, two playgrounds, and full track opened at the end of the 2018-19 school year.
