Technically Complex Product

Problem solving in Industrial Design often requires an understanding of basic-level engineering. The Design Project 2 will serve to enhance comfort with and proficiency in creating functional prototypes for testing and refinement leading to new product development. Additionally, there is an increasing awareness of developing the product experience, which involves both the product function as well as the user-interaction. The course seeks to offer a design problem, which brings together aspects of technological complexity and user behavior that have to be addressed through the adoption of a human-centered design process.

Introduction Importance of Syringe

Many times we, often see doctors using syringe to save life in hospitals etc... It is one of the invasive product, which is used to inject or to draw blood from human body. Hence syringe finds very important role in saving life’s and if you see, other face of it it kills, innocent people, doctors, nurses, paramedical people etc...

Because of accidental needle stick injuries which are contagious in nature which causes HIV, HCV etc... Hence, There was a birth of needle destroyer

Motivation to take this product

Once I had been to V S Hospital Ahmadabad in general ward, I saw this product and found, unhygienic body panel, no factor of trust etc... Hence this product have been taken and redesigned.

In hospitals many medical staff people will be using same machine and some time a dedicated person is assigned to destroy needle and it may leads to negligence. In clinics and veterinary clinics due to less no. of syringe used many of them are not having needle destroyer and there is huge opportunity in Domestic, vaccination and acupuncture scenarios to explore

Nozzle Cutter Nozzle cutter: it is used to cut the nozzle of the syringe, it is made up of carbon steel and mild steel; the main problem with this is it will get dirt and corroded upon aging hence this can be provided with certain anti corrosive coating and option provided to change the blade periodically ; This blade is mounted axially vertical and torsion spring gives spring back effect to blade, The thickness of blade holder (black) is very small and have sharp edges, which can be provided with softer material with enough thickness; effect of pressure application can be reduced by having proper length

Spark generator or burner : It is made up of brass mounted in inclined manner, this may lead to abrasion and wear; by altering gap one can reduce the sound produced from gap also power consumption van be reduced; in this there is also major problem of metallic burrs for that one can use material of high surface finish to avoid clogging of melted metallic burrs

This is given to clean the clogging of molten metal burs in Spark Generator

Embodiment Design

The feasible ideas were considered for subsystems mentioned in the product such as Needle burning and hub removal System, Waste Collection System, Transformer cooling System, Syringe Destroying, Power Input System, Display and feedback System were combined in this stage.

To avoid smell hepa filter have been incorporated, to mitigate sound hole have been provided annually with sound absorber For clogging of metal burrs, spark generator is provided with

Temporary and transparent waste collection box have been provided to avoid infections during disposal and it is made transparent to check the volume remaining in the collector box.

Serrations for Transformer cooling system made adorable which enhanced atheistic look.

Based on the behavioral study made and interviews made with experts this operation was not required hence this operation is discarded in the product
