Taiwan is an island with rich coastal ecological resources and coastline landscape. While the marine recreation industry is booming, it is also facing many challenges in ecology, industrial connection and sustainable management. This project transform abandon yacht port into a marine sports training base on the north coast. My additional part focus on achieving a sustainable cycle of carbon neutrality in Shimen.

Seaweed Preservation Method

Reduce environmental disturbance minimal change and development and restore seaweed with existing structures.

Marine Sport Training Base

The marine sport training base stays harmony with natural environment and surrounding community by extending seaweed ecosystem and providing aducation and working opportunities.

Ecologicalize the existing concrete seawall and wave breaking blocks and set different zones for various marine sports. Restoratioin area with rich ecosystem of seaweed, crustaceans and polychaetes is suitable for snorkeling, while the still water protected by seawall is for other marine sports, such as SUP, sea kayak and swimmimg.
