WHY AN ACA-ACCREDITED CAMP?

ACA Accreditation means that your child’s summer camp cares enough to undergo a thorough peer review of its operation — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management. American Camp Association collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at your child’s camp reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. SAFETY AT CAMP This summer your child’s safety is our top concern. Our camps are accredited by the American Camping Association, who independently audit requirements related to staff, supervision, programming and environment quality. In addition, we have operating guidelines in place that prevent the spread of COVID-19 during care. We meet or exceed all COVID-19 standards outlined by the California Department of Health’s camp industry guidelines. This summer we will have implemented daily health screenings, the encouragement of social distancing, use of masks, contact free check-in, stable groups of children, and strict stay at home sick policies. In addition, we have increase our cleaning and disinfecting practices, the promotion of healthy hygiene, and staff training to minimize the spread of COVID-19. We have protocols in place should a case occur and have been operating successful youth programs since the pandemic started. While things may look different in camp this year, our commitment to a fun and engaging summer remain.

KEEPING KIDS LEARNING! Keep your kid’s mind active all summer and help support their scholastic success. Summer learning loss can be a major concern for many parents. Due to the difficulties of the pandemic, as much as one month of learning loss can occur during the summer break and transition to the fall school start. At the Y, your child’s days are filled with summer recreation and we are committed to promoting learning while your child is in our care by promoting 30 minutes of reading each day. Our Kinder Ready camp includes thirty minutes of math studies twice a week, ABCs, numbers, memorizing emergency contact information, shapes, colors and much more.
