Congratulations to IB Candidates in the Class of 2020 We would like to recognize the Chapel Class of 2020. “The IB was important for my personal repertoire, because in addition to teaching me factual things, such as BSS, Mathematics, and Calculus, it also taught me soft skills that I will use for the rest of my life, such as analytical and critical thinking skills, to think outside the box, and to look at things from different perspectives. It really is priceless! Another extraordinary thing was that I got accepted into FGV with my IB points. Many candidates take two years of preparatoire courses to enter FGV, which is one of the best universities in Brazil, and I managed to get in with my IB points! It was really worth it, if I could go back in time I would do it all again. The IB is a program that, in addition to helping you for life, helps you for your future.” - Lina Mourad, Chapel Alumnus Class of 2020, currently studying at Fundação Getúlio Vargas

My first semester at college presented a lot of uncertainty and challenges, but I was not overwhelmed due to academics. Although classes are difficult, the IB made the transition much more manageable. The IB also helped in the application process, I believe it was an important factor in my acceptance into the university because it is a well-known and respected diploma program.” - Christine Reimer, Chapel Alumnus Class of 2020, currently studying at Bowdoin College

“I think the most important skill I learned through IB was time management. I chose to do two sciences and Math HL so I had a lot of hard quizzes and tests. It felt overwhelming at times, but I slowly figured out what method of organization works best for me.The IB helped me with college applications. I submitted my predicted IBs along with other test scores and having a high score definitely helped me get accepted and with a full merit scholarship!” - Alex Chae, Chapel Alumnus Class of 2020, currently studying at New York University Abu Dhabi

I went through the dynamic phase of the entrance exam quite easily because in the IB there is a great emphasis on oral presentations and debates. My final result was 933 out of 1000! It was an exceptional result and it was because of the IB. When I started in college, I realized that I have previous knowledge on several contents that are taught, and this made things a lot easier for me, while other students from Brazilian schools often have a hard time following the subjects.” - Vinicius Vieira, Chapel Alumnus Class of 2020, currently studying Administraçao at INSPER
“The IB teaches you not only to deal with the university workload but also how to prepare yourself as a person to deal with all the challenges in the university. Because of the IB I learned how to properly read an academic test and transfer that over into critical thinking, and write an essay about it. In the IB I learned how to self-regulate, how to manage my day, and to identify priorities. These skills are helping me alot during my first year at university. “ - Vitor Correa, Chapel Alumnus Class of 2020, currently studying at University of Amsterdam
