While jogging in the streets of Beijing you can watch what is happening on the New York Stock Exchange. In January you can eat fresh apricots from Chile. We are all interconnected in so many ways. Have these rapid changes worked to the advantage of all? Who gained the most and who got left behind? 2 – 3 p.m.

Among those missions were stunning successes and catastrophic failures. Anna Leahy and Doug Dechow discuss their up-close experiences with the final three missions and The Roger and Roberta Boisjoly Challenger Disaster Memorial Collection, now housed in Leatherby Libraries.

Tours meet in the KPMG Elevator Foyer, Fourth Floor. Beckman Hall Take a guided tour of the Phyllis and Ross Escalette Permanent Collection of Art – a museum without walls. The collection features artists such as Tony DeLap, Claes Oldenburg and Richard Serra. Tours offered at 1, 2 and 3 p.m.

LOOTED ANTIQUITIES IN MUSEUMS AND PRIVATE COLLECTIONS: DIGITAL RESPONSES TO A MATERIAL PROBLEM (ART HISTORY LECTURE) Department of Art Moulton Hall, Room 213 Art history professor, Dr. Justin Walsh, will speak about public and private collections which contain works that were illegally excavated, smuggled from their nations of origin and sold on the art market to their owners. The lecture will run from 1 – 2 p.m.

COLLEGE OF EDUCATIONAL STUDIES: KATHLEEN MUTH READING AND LEARNING CENTER

Muth Reading and Learning Center, Reeves Hall, Room 1 CES faculty and staff will present the Literacy Tutoring Program, show a film about the center and answer questions about the reading center and its impact in the community. The Literacy Tutoring Program teaches reading and writing to approximately 100 culturally and linguistically diverse elementary students each year.

CHAPMAN COLUMBARIUM

Chapman Columbarium, Fish Interfaith Center The Chapman University Columbarium and Cenotaph, located at the Merle and Marjorie Fish Interfaith Center, is a special, reverent, private and meditative place. This work of art, designed by Susan Narduli to reflect the sky, uses banks of niche spaces covered with beautiful, polished light blue marble that soar 16 feet into the air.

Schmid College of Science and Technology Crean Hall, 501 W. Palm Ave. This early 1900’s factory building offers a funky space for the psychology, marriage & family therapy (MFT) and physical therapy (PT) programs at the Crean School of Health & Life Sciences. It is also home to the Frances Smith Center for Individual and Family Therapy, which serves the mental health needs of Orange County residents regardless of ability to pay. You’ll also find a display of our plans for the new Graduate Health Sciences Campus in Irvine, scheduled to open in fall 2015.

EARLY HUMAN AND LIFESPAN DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH FACILITY

Schmid College of Science and Technology Early Human and Lifespan Development Research Facility, 544 North Cypress St. The Early Human and Lifespan Development Research Facility examines the interplay of biological, psychosocial and behavioral processes in pregnancy and their influence on maternal health, fetal health and early childhood development. The historic 1928 building that houses the facility is the laststanding schoolhouse in California that offered a segregated education to the children of migrant workers, a practice that finally ended in the state in the late 1940’s. Old photos and displays tell the story.
