Where can I get married? There are a number of options as to where you can have your ceremony. If you are out of the area you could consider a local Church or Registry Office depending if you would like a religious or a civil ceremony. The legally binding part of your ceremony doesn’t even have to take place on the same day as the reception with us - you can make that part as formal or informal as you’d like, really tailoring the day to yourselves. If you’d like to have all formalities here at English Oak we can host blessings where a celebrant can conduct the ceremony for you and we can provide recommendations for you. A Celebrant offers the opportunity for the ceremony to be as unique, different and personal to you. We would be more than happy to help you locate ceremony venues and we have some of our favourites here; The Guildhall & Registration Office, Poole: One of Poole’s most historic and well-known landmarks, the Guildhall. The Grade 2 listed building, shown right, which dates back to the 18th Century, provides a new venue for weddings, civil partnerships and other civic ceremonies. The guildhall is 7 miles from English Oak Vineyard.
Lytchett Minster Parish Church: Part’s of the this parish church dates back to the 14th century. It is located in the village of Upton and is approximately 4 miles from English Oak.
Upton House, Poole: Upton House sits in the award winning grounds of Upton Country Park. It is a magnificent Georgian Grade II listed building and offers the perfect setting for a legal ceremony. The Guildhall
Canford Parish Church: Canford Magna Parish church is located on the edge of the River Stour on the opposite bank from Wimborne and adjoins the main entrance of Canford School in the attractive conservation area of Canford Magna village. About our Wine
Extending the happiness you feel at the popping of that cork, is our driving passion! It’s the intimate opportunity you give to us when you select our wine, a chance for us to contribute something special by adding a little extra sparkle to your occasion, whatever it may be, that drives our commitment to excellence in business. High ambition indeed, so why else should you choose English Oak Sparkling Wine? Perhaps because in a world obsessed with ‘bigger is better’, our planting and wine making remains on a scale where the character sealed inside every individual bottle still matters. With English Oak Sparkling Wine, you are assured that the vineyard owners themselves have participated with personal loving care and attention in the creation of every bottle. Perhaps it’s in the terroir, carefully selected before planting to ensure our vines thrive and produce quality. Our Cru, the landscape in which our vineyard is planted in the beautiful Purbeck region, forms a natural bowl, sheltering the vines and catching every drop of sunshine for optimum ripening. The soil is particularly rich and fertile, the Dorset air clean, the climate mild, creating wines of distinct English Oak character. Our elegant Blanc de Blanc is crafted exclusively from Chardonnay vines located in our vineyard’s premier aspect. Perhaps it’s because from the outset, we understood that diversity is key to character in a wine of distinctive quality. In our 23,000 vine, 23 acre vineyard, a variety of 14 different Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay clones and rootstocks have been carefully and deliberately selected to emulate the complex and interesting blends which characterise the finest Champagnes.
www.englishoakvineyard.co.uk
Perhaps it’s our commitment to mirror closely the traditional méthode Champenoise wine making process, where concern for quality always overrides quantity. Starting with careful site selection and a commitment to low density planting, we ensure careful picking by hand and follow this with gentle pressing in a traditional vertical press where slow, progressive and regular pressure is applied to extract only the best Cuvee. Great care is taken at every step of the wine making process, the wine is aged on the lees beyond the minimum permitted time. Ultimately, after all our personal attentive care in vine selection, planting, picking and pressing, perhaps it’s our wisdom in selecting a winemaker of exceptional skill and reputation in Dermot Sugrue to create for you the perfect blend of consistent superb flavour and bouquet. Possibly it’s the reassuring comfort and sense of involvement you get from dealing directly with the vineyard when you make your next purchace and the satisfaction gained from supporting your local economy and reducing carbon miles. Whatever it is, our ultimate passion is to add a little something to your special moment. So let the celebration commence - enjoy our wine!
