Interested in Joining an ACC Committee? Nominations Now Open! Nominations for available positions on ACC’s Committees, including NCDR and ACC Accreditation Services’ committees, are now being accepted until Tuesday, Sept. 13. Interested applicants or nominators are encouraged to review the open positions on the Committee Nominations Portal and may self-nominate or nominate a colleague. Applicants will be notified of results by the end of 2022. ACC’s committee nomination process is an important opportunity to continue to increase diversity at the College and include perspectives spanning the entire profession. The Nominating Committee strongly encourages applicants from various backgrounds, cultures, specialties, practice settings and career stages. ACC.23 Key Dates: Abstract Submissions and Young Investigator Awards Share your research with the global cardiovascular community at ACC.23 Together With WCC in New Orleans, March 4 – 6, 2023! Submit abstracts across 10 learning pathways and the Spotlight on Special Topics featuring cardio-oncology, cardio-obstetrics, global cardiovascular health, innovation, digital health and technology, sports and exercise, training and lifelong learning, and – NEW THIS YEAR – medical humanities. Presenters will have the opportunity to share their research in person and virtually — and accepted abstracts will be published online in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology! The deadline for submissions is Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022 at 1 p.m. ET. The ACC is also calling all young scientific investigators to submit abstracts by Monday, Aug. 29 for the chance to be one of 18 finalists to compete in the Young Investigator Awards competition. Finalists will win up to $2,000, travel to ACC.23/WCC in New Orleans, and gain exposure on a global scale when they present their science in one of three categories: clinical investigations, basic and translational science, or outcomes research. Physicians, scientists, medical students, and other health care providers currently in residency or fellowship programs or are no more than three years out of training are eligible. PhD, PharmD or DNP candidates who are no more than three years out of training may also apply. Learn more.

What You Need to Know: Guidance For Clinicians on Dobutamine Shortage The current dobutamine shortage affects multiple areas in cardiovascular medicine, including diagnostics and therapies. According to manufacturers, the crisis will be relieved in the fall of 2022 and resolved by the end of this year.
