TEST SYNTAR 513 ( WENGE ) FIDELITY MAGAZINE 12 2/2014 ( MARCH-APRIL 2014 ) TEXT: STEFAN GAWLICK ( FIDELITY EDITOR )
LIKELARGE Small, inexpensive, loud: Charios “Syntar 513” hews powerfull on the plaster! It happened on the last High End Show in Munich: Colleague Brockmann attended the demonstration of the noble Italian speaker manufacturer Chario where just the "DAVID", the Syntar 513 played. He sought the supposed playing floorstanding speaker and found none. Then he sought the subwoofer and also did not find one. So much music from such a small box? And that too at such a low price? Herewith the idea for a report had been agreed. And here she is now, the smallest and most affordable Chario. And by the way my first Chario. How beautiful! Pretty she is definitely. The veneer sits - not only for this price range – very well, as the held with small magnet aperture. The bass reflelx tube opens downward, where four rubber feet takes care for decoupling from the underground and for a precisely defined distance (Bassreflex!). On the back sits sympathetic as only one pair of terminals, manufactured in-house, for in a quality that you can not even suspected in this price range to some extent. Well, sonically it does not make America's Next Top Idol - contestant to a good singer - but it is beautiful in every case. VULGARITIES DESIRED More exciting is the front , sitting on the two non-everyday chassis. Chario is known for great tweeter and correspondingly low crossover frequencies . While the top models of the house send high frequencies over an impressive 32- millimeter dome on the way to our ears, 27- millimeter must satisfy in this case. Christoph Mertens, the german chario distributor goes even further: he asks me explicitly, to post the speakers "very bad" and to leave my normal listening position, just once to be "really mean" to the Syntar 513.
