Charity Finance Management Training Foundation Charity Finance Level: Foundation When: 15 Mar 2022 (online) Price: £135 members, £175 non-members or When: 16 Jun 2022 (in person), 6 Oct 2022 (online) Price: £135 members, £190 non-members Hours of CPD: 6h 45 m This popular one-day introductory course is aimed at exploring the world of charity finance for people who have some finance knowledge. The main sessions will focus on accounting under the SORP and direct tax and VAT regimes. Other topics include the annual report, audit, fraud, investments and charity sector financials.

Advanced Charity Finance Level: Advanced When: 26 Apr 2022/30 Nov 2022 (online), 14 Jul 2022 (in person), Price: £95 members, £125 non-members Hours of CPD: 4h This course is aimed at either senior members of charity finance teams or those with responsibility for finance. It will cover VAT and charity trading, grants vs contracts, making the most of trustees’ reports, financial sustainability, scenario planning and the role of the board and post-Covid concerns.

Audit Committee Training Level: Intermediate When: 2 Nov 2022 (online) Price: £85 members, £110 non-members Hours of CPD: 2h 30 m This course introduces the main functions of audit committees and discusses their role in charities, covering: the role and composition of an audit committee, guidance from the charity regulators and other sectors, assurance, risk, reporting and audit.

Introduction to VAT Level: Foundation When: 7 Jun 2022 (in person), 17 Nov 2022 (online) Price: £85 members, £125 non-members Hours of CPD: 3h 30 m This course is tailored for the needs of charities when it comes to VAT. It will give attendees the insight and knowledge they need to minimise irrecoverable VAT and how to budget for what cannot be recovered.

This bitesize investment training with investment specialist Sarasin & Partners will on the knowledge of asset classes covered in the Foundation course, turning theory into practice and ensuring you develop the right investment policy for your organisation, understand environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors and more.

This course, delivered in partnership with Crowe, will cover the key principles of financial reporting for fundraisers working in charities, how to analyse and use charity accounts and how tax and VAT impact them. Hours of CPD: 2h This course, delivered by the employment team at Mills & Reeve, which specialises in work for charities, will look at the issues arising for employers in a post-Covid, or even mid-Covid, world. They will explore hybrid working and flexible working, how to minimise the risks if it is necessary to make staff redundant and will deliver a general employment law update.

Cyber-security Training Level: Intermediate When: Sep 2022 Price: TBC Hours of CPD: 2h This course will look at the simple measures you can implement to help protect your organisation against cyber-crime. It will also cover the importance of cyber and crime insurance policies, and how these organisations respond in the event of a cyber-attack.
